How odd is this?

quote:

Florida law prohibits professional athletes from being covered under workman's compensation insurance, league co-founder and CEO Charlie Ebersol said in a story published Wednesday. Florida's other professional sports teams — including the NFL's Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers — are covered under insurance policies at the league level.

quote:

Beginning next week, the Apollos will be housed in a Jacksonville hotel, then take a bus 30 minutes over the state line to Kingsland, Ga., for practice. Home games will still take place at Spectrum Stadium in Orlando.

Not only did the league miss the first payroll, but the Orlando team has been operating without insurance.

Charlie Ebersol is an imbecile.

The love fest with the AAF on this board has been nothing short of laughable. This league will be dead in two years.

I think you miss a large part of the sarcasm with most of the board

I enjoy watching it but also know there’s a large chance it will fail

They don't really have better options until the XFL, which will probably have it's own set of shitty circumstances. They aren't gonna quit and go back to being a personal trainers. They'll probably be a really bad Outside the Lines or Real Sports, with players describing how minor league it is, coming though.

Unless the NFL adoptions the AAF as a minor league like it hopes, this is going to be a one and done league.

This kind of bush league amateur stuff makes the XFL look better and better.

The XFL looks like they are taking their time to make sure they get things right whereas the AAF looks like it was just thrown together as quickly as possible.

They were certainly in a rush to hit the field before the XFL.
