no doubt. speaking of bad segments (because i dont feel like it deserves its own thread) i was watching college football live and cowherd was hosting. he didnt some gambling bit where he dressed up as some kind of mobster and called himself gary the gut. it was freaking painful to sit through.

Sports Today. 104.5 ESPN.

Jimmy Ott's buddy has a fricking segment every Thursday. He's nothing more than some everyday Joe who they get on the air to be an NFL "analyst"

That there is confusion about it pretty much proves it's a terrible segment.

cowherd was dressed up in one of those green visors that card dealers wear and a big gold chain that was a $ sign. and chewing on a cigar and speaking in his best mobster voice. i dont know who told cowherd he was funny.

Agree.

I have also started to wonder about Mike Detillier...I am on the fence as to whether I believe that he is knowledgeable and worth my hour from 4-5 on Thursday....or if he is just annoying as frick and doesn't really know what he is talking about. Point me in the right direction please, oh experts of the MSB

This is annoying as hell....he takes 2 minutes to say what could be said in 20 seconds.

Why does Buddy even have listeners anymore? What is his appeal?

Even if someone dislikes Ott and his schtick/tone/inner circle of listeners and sponsors, they would have to admit that listening to him, Charles, and Derek talk about sports in general is much more informative than anything Buddy would offer up.
