I really do believe he is the second greatest player ever because of his insane drive to be the best. That kind of intensity blended with his unique athletic ability and consistency is something that only comes around once in a few decades. A lot of players have one or the other but he has both and that's what separates him IMO. I'm not even a big fan of the guy but I appreciate the passion that he brings every time he steps on the court

to be fair, a torn achilles doesn't actually hurt when it happens or even after it happens.
The day after is a bitch and a half.

Paul Pierce has a look like he is about to die and is being carried out of the jungle in Nam.

Definitely. I've always been a fan of the quiet superstar like a Dirk or a Gretzky. But it is damn hard to not like a guy like Kobe, someone who puts 100% in all the time and would play injured if they let him, even if he has flaws on and off the court. But who doesn't.

To be fair, bad leg cramps are close to the most painful thing I've ever experienced and I've dislocated shoulders, broken major bones, etc.

The Mamba is awesome. Toughest SOB in the NBA. Probably the most driven as well.
I'm gonna hate it if this is the end for him.

Needing a wheelchair for a shoulder injury might be the biggest puss move ever

You can walk on the leg with a completely-torn achilles tendon--as long as you hit and maintain weight over heel. If weight shifts forward to your foot--you will go down! I walked this way around the house for three days waiting on my surgery. Doable if one takes their time! Nothing superhuman about this...

They would have driven an ambulance out onto the floor and then medevaced Lebron.

Bron being carried is a bit much because cramps go away in less than a minute usually, but if you have 5% body fat and you have a full leg cramp, YOU AREN'T WALKING.
I have no where near his muscle mass and I've had a couple full leg cramps that brought tears to my eyes.
