I can see I'm at a disadvantage. You obviously have had more to drink than I have.
What I'm saying is that I think Romo has done a damn good job leading the Boys to the verge of the playoffs with no running game, an average corps of receivers and a D that has been ravaged and depleted by injury.
And no I'm not comparing him to #7. I'm just pointing out that Elway as good as he was, wasn't able to win it all by himself.

youre never at a disadvantage when dealing with our local idiot
yea your running game is poo but you got 3 good guys to throw the ball to. although a lack of running game puts more stress on them

In THIS age.......... Romo has WAY more talent than Elway had in his 1st three sb chances. Think about it.

those Denver teams get sold short in retrospect. they had some great defenses

Logic like this is NOT allowed in this thread.

Yea, they gave up 39 to the Giants in XXI, 42 to the Redskins in XXII, & 55 to the 49ers in XXIV. I wouldn't call that great.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

BUT Elway got them there. On Offense basically by himself. He made the players around him BETTER.Probably better than ANY QB in history. Think about it .

I guess I'm just still so surprised that some of these people think Drew is still that much better than Romo.
I'm not. The truth is: he is better. Romo is on the cusp of that level, but doesn't yet have the "it" factor.
I say "yet" because I've seen something in him this year I really like. I didn't think he had the ability to pull a team through tough patches. But he's done it several times this year. VERY encouraging, especially if we finally start to address the OL woes in the off season. (That's another huge difference in the comparison, Saints OL is good, and you can't ignore stuff like that when analyzing)
So at this point, I'd still rather have Brees when the chips are down, he's a surgeon. But I'm content with Romo. There are 15-20 teams that would love to have the Cowboys "problems" at QB, and Quincy Carter wasn't that long ago

You definitely have had more to drink than I have.
Besides you, who remembers who finished 2nd in the SB? It's all about the crystal.
THINK ABOUT IT!!

Well its the MOST talked about debate in the history of Football as to is the best QB EVER. Elway Is Tops in my book because of the fact of what he did with LESS than Montana did. BUT TO BE FAIR the BEST EVER is OTTO Graham. BUT Back to THIS thread............. I wonder how good the PACKERS. Giants, Pats,Saints,Seahawks, niners,Colts,Texans, would be IF Romo Was THEIR QB.

Those scores aren't great but if their offense had kept them off the field some of the time that would have been helpful too.
They scored 10 points against the 49ers and teh Redskins - if the other team wants to run up the score and you can't do shite on offense they will run up the score.
And judging any team by a single result is lousy FWIW - if you want to dispute whether a team is good or bad on offense or defense you should probably cite their whole season. In 1989 Denver was the #1 ranked team in the NFL in team defense

I've been following the Broncos since 1972. How about you?

I think that's really the same question in a way Peej. It comes down to: do you think Romo is better or worse than the current QB option of that team (with a little "scheme" difference thrown in.). But I'll bite:
Likely Worse: Packers, Pats, Saints
Same: Giants
Slightly better: Seahawks, Colts
MUCH better: Niners
