Thanks putting this all in one place. I love the citizen journalist this site seems to bring out. I'll put money on it that this thread will be used by more than 1 ESPN radio personality to get information.

Excellent work.

Appreciate the effort and admittedly this is a weird and interesting story, but god damn, the kid pretended to have a girlfriend and lied about it.

People are investigating this shite like he murdered somebody... like Ray Lewis.

At this point, at least to me, there is more to it than just the story.

I've watched the Catfish documentary since this news broke, a movie I'd never heard of. I think it was absolutely wild, it fascinated me as well. Some people

It was THE college football story. Following college football is unquestionably one my biggest hobbies. Plus, this story and the ND season really overshadowed what was an amazing SECCG that my team was involved in. Instead of hearing about Gurshall and Herschel and all those back stories in the media that week, I had to hear about a fake dead girlfriend.

Plus, Te'o overshadowed Jarvis Jones on so many awards due to his back story. Just compare their numbers. Jesus.

And finally, the media. The media's failure to initially do the job and continuing to fail is unbelievable to me considering ESPN IS so powerful in the sports market, specifically college football.

The crappy media bought into the Notre Dame story so hard that they all wanted the Manti bullshite to be true. I love all the egg on their faces now, especially that douche POS from SI Pete Thayer. It's great.

That is what bothers me about it all. Te'o, because of his "story", won some awards that should have gone to others.

Were they ever a couple? Notre Dame students apparently said it was well known around campus during this time that he hooked up with other girls. Further, anonymous football players have questioned the validity of this relationship?

If this is true than Teo is clearly a media whore because other than the potential gay angle, nothing adds up.

Good work. You should be paid for this. I considered doing something similar but got back to work instead. Honestly, I'd shop this around.

The group allegedly responsible for the hoax and the potentially living Lennay Kekua (at least in Manti’s mind) show up in Miami for the game, fool Te’o into thinking he’ll get to meet them before his curfew at 11 and then they dupe him again by showing up too late.

This is all I need to know to reach the conclusion that Manti Te'o, in the words of Robert Downey Jr.'s Kirk Lazarus, is "the dumbest mother fricker that ever lived."

Remember, Swarbrick alluded to the notion of shady people pressuring Te'o in some way, presumably to affect his playing. At one point, Te'o was apparently told his girlfriend was on the run from drug dealers.

Personally, I don't believe any of that, but considering his sub-par performance in the game, someone official should surely be looking into the possibility.

Certainly the NCAA would just roll over and ask Swarbrick to rub their bellies, but if anyone in a US Attorney's office believes even the tiniest bit of this volcano of crap, they should be individually sitting down everyone whose name has been mentioned and making them either detail every interaction they had IRL or online with every other person mentioned, or detail their own lies and motivations.

Like I said, I don't believe there's any organized crime involved, and I think Saban's team just made him look bad, but given what has been stated publically, someone needs to follow it up, if only to say, "yes, it's bullshite"
