Can you imagine a world where Ohio State's national title odds are higher than Michigan's after today? That world is a 12 team CFP

Not only would Ohio state be favored to make a deeper run than Michigan but they don't have to play next week and get beat up

Crazy but Bama won two national championships under two different systems without playing in a conference CG

Anymore than 2 teams is a disaster.

I think you’d see a few upsets

Not a fan of this type of expansion at all.

4 is fine. We have a hard enough time finding a worthy 4 seed.

I sort of agree, but am okay with 4.

So why is 6 or 8 an issue? There is usually enough question surrounding 3-8 in the rankings to make it worth trying out. In most cases it would still end up with the 1/2 winning their games. But we could always potentially get a surprise. The #4 has won a couple times.

8 should be the max. 5 champs from Power 5, top ranked G5 champ, 2 at large.

12 is too many and potentially gets 3 loss teams in some years

So is trying to make CF the NFL but that's what ESPN is doing and it will ruin it eventually

The issue is there aren't enough worthy teams year in and year out. I also like the idea of how important every game is at the college level.

I actually use to want a 6 team playoff. That was my preferred. I agree 8 should really be max.

Michigan would also get a bye by winning their conference.

The above scenario is a problem in an 8 team playoff, not 12

12 teams is perfect. Current system favors big name programs only.

Every 4 team playoff has had blowout semi games, it is beyond stupid to expand it.

BCS was better IMO

Ole Miss beat BAMA 2 years in a row. Boise beat Oklahoma in Fiesta , etc

Wed probably have Georgia vs Michigan this year for a BCS title game.

That would be awesome instead of having to watch Cincinnati get blown out by 40 pts and the possibility of a dogshit Notre Dame or Big 12 champ in there.

A 12 team playoff would need to be the end of the conference championship games for this exact reason. No need for extra games, rematches, etc. when you have playoff games extending the season anyway.

Every year the NFL playoffs happen I’m like wow, would have liked it so much better if there were only 3 games

8 teams would work well

I could definitely see teams with a high seed sandbagging conference champ games though
