I'm still not convinced LSU was the best team in the country, but they were certainly the most deserving.

I hate to be cliche, but on any given saturday (or thrusday) Stanford can beat USC, Kentucky can beat LSU, Appy State can beat Michigan etc etc and so on and so forth.

Prognostications are all fine and well, but are mostly a waste of time.

This year will be the year when the BCS is shown to be a broken format though.

No. Boeckman is much better than Hatch. Sanchez would carve up the secondary.

Hell no. When this team faces a good defense, they lose. Oklahoma twice last year and their defense is garbage.

What about Texas? Maybe...

Not a chance. The Horns got their one and only chance to beat USC with Vince Young.

Personally, I think Mack Brown should give Vince Young $10 every morning when he wakes up for the rest of his life. Without VY, Ole' Mack never sees a championship.

Who was then??? West Virgina? Better not even say USC b/c I will destroy you with a strength of schedule from last year and just alittle taste.

Idaho, Florida International, Western Kentucky, and San Jose State all had a tougher strength schedule than USC did last year.

It's easy to look great against shitty opponents. Just ask Ohio State how that feels???

Maybe Oklahoma. None of the other teams could right now, imo.

2. Let's don't get carried away anointing USC as one of the all-time great teams or as the team that stands clearly above every other in college football.

The Trojans may indeed be the best team in September, but beating up an overrated Ohio State squad is not proof that the Trojans will be the best in October and November. The burden of hype and L.A. celebrity will bite USC during the Pac-10 season.

You've made my point for me, so thanks. LSU's schedule was better than USC's, and they deserved to be in the BCSCG.

But head to head on the field? I think we'd have beaten you.

I think you wouldn't have.

Where does that leave us?

Opinions are like assholes everyone has one.

alright, let's just go to a playoff format, and we'll settle it once and for all.

Only one that can really do that is a round robin.

The logic behind a bracket playoff is inherently flawed and proven wrong every year.

Why they'd lose to USC: Tebow is tough but he's not fast enough to beat USC's defense to the edges, like Texas' Vince Young did in the Rose Bowl three years ago.

Already they are making side comments everywhere about how good USC's defense is.
