Assuming they weren’t really offering 100k like previous posts indicated

Hebert needs to get out of SH because he can’t win big games with a ton of talent! Cecchini beats him on down years!

He's literally has beaten Barbe at least once every year since he's been head coach there. West Monroe other than Catholic was the best team in Louisiana this year

Hebert was a name I heard floated for central and was the kind of home run hire I was expecting them to hit. He’s a great coach.

It seems like it. Are you referring to the 12 incoming freshman that just made the team last week? I don’t ever remember incoming freshman making the baseball team going into the summer.

How many "summer teams" does Central have this year? I KNOW at least 2, and I would bet they'll expand to 3. Those 12 are not on the varsity baseball team. They are simply on the summer roster. During the regular season, central always fields a freshman, JV and a varsity team.

There are lots of openings in 5-5A baseball Denham Walker Prarieville and maybe EA. Centrals coach retired also. Anyone care to speculate?

None matter as they cannot beat Barbe.

I’m talking about St. Amant. The summer tryout is usually just an evaluation for the real tryout in December, and hardly ever does an incoming freshman make the team for the summer. They usually don’t make the team until the December tryout, which is when the Freshman team is created for the spring.

exactly...Why would Hebert leave when SH is the better job and has much better facilities and he has a kid that just graduated going to ULL and another going into 8th grade?

unless they are truely offering 100k no way in hell

then on top of that, dude has split series with barbe last couple of years, has the program rolling and has more talent in the incoming 8/9th grade classes than barbe does, better get them then though cause starting with 7th grade class....Barbe gonna have some studs rolling in. He lost to WM in the semis last couple years

and as far as not being able to beat Cecchini when it matters....not many are, even in down years. outside of WM...and the one St Amant upset...who in the last 10 years has consistently beaten barbe in playoffs?

many schools do not do it like that though

most i know of have tryout in May for in zone kids. then a 2nd one sometime in the summer for those that are out of zone once all of those permits have been approved(and yes every school takes out of zone kids)

those kids immediately play for the summer teams

then they have a 2nd tryout in December in case anyone moved into the district

hell many times they have a team for the kids going to 8th grade. the 13u kids, for the summer to play too. invite only.
