Does anyone else find it odd that Magic Johnson has shown no symptoms of AIDS and has had no complications since he announced it? Or have I missed something?
Yet this guy died pretty fast.

Magic Johnson doesn't have AIDS. He's HIV positive. Once you get AIDS, you're fricked, but there is medicine that people with HIV can take (rich people) where you can still live a somewhat normal life.

This was another fluff piece of crap biography of Tim Richmond.
What do you expect from something produced by the "NASCAR Media Group"?
I thought it was an interesting story but there were so many unanswered questions. I thought it was odd that Kyle Petty was talking about being ignorant of AIDS and in hindsight would have educated himself or whatever, when Richmond denied until the end that he had AIDS. The guy just kept saying he had pneumonia. Or was it common knowledge and everybody in the garage was 100% sure that he had AIDS.

Oh ok thanks.

I didn't get to see the show last night, but it is my understanding that NASCAR wanted to drug test him and he refused, knowing that the AZT and other HIV/AIDS drugs would show up, so he was suspended. He finally came clean to the NASCAR top dogs and they agreed to let him come back, but with the unknowns and the general fear of that time, I am sure that the Frances and others told some of the top names (Waltrip, Petty, etc.) to be mindful and I guess be very wary if they tried to help him after a wreck or something.

In that interview she states that somthing like over a dozen women came out contacted her stating that they had had sex with Richmond between the time that the doctors told him he had AIDS and his passing.
I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he neglectfully infected sexual partners after he was diagnosed, but it is equally possible that he transmitted it unknowingly beforehand.

There is zero evidence that Richmond ever knowingly infected any woman. That's absolute garbage.

I have heard the belief that NASCAR knew but wasnt ready to ban him for AIDS. They then used what some believe was a bogus drug test. Richmond then sued NASCAR. It was proven that the test was faulty. In the end it was an OUT for Richmond that he should have taken, yet he was so arrogant that he felt nothing could stop him.

Wikipedia says that NASCAR set him up to fail the drug test. It wasn't a faulty test, it was blatantly falsifying the results. According to Kyle Petty, NASCAR was trying to join the big 3 (MLB, NBA, NFL) and they didn't want to be the first sport with an AIDS patient.

I read somewhere that right now medications that keep you living a normal life on HIV cost roughly two dollars a day.

All that article says is that he banged her in September and then was diagnosed in December.
It does not in anyway confirm that he ever knowingly infected any woman.

The real cure is sleeping on a huge pile of money.

What would you expect from a rich kid that had daddy buy his way to Nascar and Indy?
