Nov 28. I thought I was cheering for LSU and applauding CLM for thanks for the last 11 years, I didn't realize it was to support him to continue.

Fact is in 11 seasons he has had 2 losses or less regular seasons over 50% of the time....which means the majority of the time for some of you that don't understand what 50% means...lol...6 years out of 11 he has had 2 losses or less....3 more years he has had only 3 losses in reg season....so 9 out of 11 years he has lost 3 games or less

You know -- if you're going to be cute in your posts you might want to get your FACTS straight.

Miles had 11 seasons right?

1 out of 11 had 1 loss.
4 out of 11 had 2 losses.
3 out of 11 had 3 losses.
1 out of 11 had 4 losses.
2 out of 11 had 5 losses.

So it looks like you might not know what 50% means.

no you can't. that's what we like to call "cherry picking"

Actually measuring Miles' record ONLY @ LSU is "cherry picking". That's why we have to look at his entire resume to understand what kind of coach he is -- in other words, how has he done with the talent he has regarldess of where he coached.

The last 4 seasons has shown a regression to the mean -- which is his all-time coaching record - 72.5% or so.

One other thing to note is that in the 11 years Les has been the coach his teams have had to play 8 eventual national champs and 1 runner up

You could make that point for almost every team in the SEC in the last 11 seasons.

The SEC is tough.

He's also currently 18th in win % amongst active coaches

LOL at that list. He's behind Larry Scott, who is at 4-1. He's also inside the top 10 when looking at his LSU record. Based on the OP article, Les would be more likely to be on their list for what he had done at OSU than LSU, because he beat OU (see Mullen winning nothing but getting a decent win here and there). Tell me how that makes sense.

Peterson will always get credit for his time at Boise, and we will just ignore that he is barely over .500 during his time in the big(ger) leagues. Same with Lance Leipold, who had a losing record his first season out of D3. I assume you think he's better than Miles too.

And I've made a pretty convincing case as to why that list, posted without commentary, is shite. Period.

I almost forgot the Miami (OH) coach is ranked #12. His D1 record is 5-19 at the moment. Feel free to explain what point this list makes. My guess is you either didn't really look into that list before linking it because its results helped some point you were making, or you did and ignored it because you assumed people wouldn't look at it.

Well there is one convincing case you have made; you failed to read the reason for the post in the first place:

How he stacked up against other active coaches who won a NC.

It just so happens he's ranked 18th on a list that's not an opinion -- just factual, win %. Period.

Half, or more than half of LSU games each year are rent a wins. The other six games are the true judge of Miles coaching ability. Using your criteria, of two losses per year, that means Miles loses 33% of the competitive games each year. Dung three lose seasons, Miles loses 50% of the competitive games on the schedule. is this the true definition of an elite coach?

10 out of 12 games every season Les has the most talented team but still loses 3 or 4 games.

Since Miles has been here, Bama, Auburn, UF, Ole Miss, Tamu, UTK, UGA have all had higher rated recruiting classes at some point.

The best recruits are in the south. LSU plays the most talented teams year in and year out.

And BTW, 2011 is rated as the toughest SOS in LSU history, the 4th is 07. Seems to me Miles is winning against much tougher schedules than any previous coach at LSU.

I think you might want to go back and read what I posted again....it is very apparent you lack reading comprehension. I'm not going to tell you, surely you can figure out how stupid and a waste of time it was to compile the record of miles and post it.

I'm dead serious when I say this, it is obvious that you are a small-minded kid that ACTUALLY thinks he is making good points here. In about 15 years, when you grow up and actually accomplish something, you will understand just how much you DON'T know. But, wisdom takes time. Until then, learn solid reading comprehension skills....and be a little more humble and objective. You aren't special.

So OK genius, since LSU has played one of the toughest out of conference schedules over his tenure...what does that say about other teams. Are you seriously that dumb to think LSU is the only team to do this? ALL teams do it. BTW, there are only 4 ooc games a year so you are already talking out your arse. In addition, once you go outside the sec most teams have only 2-3 tough games a year...some not even that.

I seriously cannot imagine the thought process that leads some of you to think you are posting solid information. Its just unreal how stupid dome of you are.

Bottom line...over the 11 years les has been at LSU...LSU has won more games than any other program in the sec. Fact. That includes a cross rival that has been the most successful eastern program during that period...Florida.c I could also list all the ooc games played by each program during that time and LSU would play second fiddle to no one in the sec.
