Also most private schools are local type schools not football factories like Evangel and John Curtis.

I know, but to some, they're all the same. They don't realize there is a world of difference between Opelousas Catholic or Sacred Heart of VP and Evangel or Curtis.

Veer, been running the same thing since fire was discovered.

Not unless a meteor hits river ridge between now and game time.

Curtis will win 49-0, that seems to be there default score.

They could win 200-0 if they wanted.

what does this have to do with anything?

Private schools should not be able to play in the LHSAA.

If they want to give scholarships and recruit let them compete against each other.

It amazes me that there are still people out there that believe this bullshite.

Not every private school gives scholarships, and there are public schools in the state that recruit more than any private schools do.

Game is this Friday at a "neutral" site lol I thought they have and always have ran the veer. I agree it will take a miracle to win. Hopefully the Bulldogs will come out with nothing to lose underdog attitude. No one expects for us to be within 40 points. Could use that for motivation and JC might have a hard time getting up to play a lil ole public school like us. Tht being said. I don't expect the upset but will be rooting for my lil cousin and his team.

No it's not. It's at one of the stadiums Curtis uses as a home field.

I'm confused as to why you even mentioned that at all. The game is not supposed to be a neutral site game. It's supposed to be a Curtis home game, and it is.

Does John Curtis have a weakness? If there was a area to attack what would it be?

Didn't realize its was there home field they play on every home game. My aunt gave me the scoop on the game this weekend she mentioned it being a neutral site sorta. Sorry for the misinformation. haven't been following Curtis since I played football in the early 2000's due to being in the Army. On leave so trying to figure out what we are up against.

Not really.

They have D1 athletes all over the field. Multiple RBs that will play in college. They run the veer. Their goal is to get 3.34 yards on every play. You will screw up an assignment before they do. That's how they break long plays.

I don't know specifically what kind of defense they run, but they have a bunch of LBs and DBs getting scholarship offers.

The problem is metro schools vs. rural schools. When you get a small private school that is seen as being the best option for a sport in a Metro area, they'll draw from, sometimes, a population of hundreds of thousands (take Curtis as a prime example).

Your Manys and Springfields, etc. will draw strictly from their towns of 5,000 or so. If they are consistently good, they may attract transfers from adjacent towns, but just the odd player here and there.

Metro schools tend to be feast or famine. You'll have loaded teams and really awful teams (see Belaire in BR or Comeaux in Laffy) because it's relatively easy for an athlete's family to take their kids out of the bad athletic situation and put them into a good sports program).

It's a shame when the "good" alternative is a 2A private school.

The solution, to me, is to make 5A football an open division. Any program can play up to 5A and play in its enrollment class in other wports.
