How is this for an alternative betting strategy. Something different than the 1% unit dichotomy..... Thoughts?
1. Deposit $500 into a sportsbook
2. Risk half your roll on a surefire ML (between -300 and -800)
3. Win or lose, rinse and repeat once a day, everyday for a month
4. Profit?????
Let's say you get uber lucky and avoid any upsets (i.e., you go 30-0).
Let's also say every pick was -500
You daily winnings would be (0.5 * BR) * 0.2 = 0.1 * BR (i.e., increase BR by 10% each day)
After 30 wins, your BR = 500 * (1.1^30) = $8,725
At a 10% roi, it would take about 7 bets to double our stake, so each loss would set you back about 1 week.... with no risk of ever going completely busto....
Easy enuff, huh?
