Well yeah she's 1-13 in her last 14 matches.
Serena surely doesn't have the conditioning to win the third though right? Right?!

Good for her battling back. But, I could easily see her run out of gas now.

She's a fake Aussie. She grew up in the Detroit area, then decided a few years ago she was Aussie because of her dad.

Serena coming back just to play doubles would have made sense. Her serve is still very good. She can't move anywhere close to well enough to play singles, which is no surprise.

Third set went as expected. Surprised she won a set.

Nakashima took the first set from Struff and then loses the next two in tiebreaks.
Two more matches postponed due to darkness. Probably hurts Nakashima he had all the moment after that 4th set.
They have to do something about this it's happening too much. If they won't put lights on all courts then at least a couple outside courts to easily move over to since they never do for court 1.

Good morning. I just came here to say frick espn and their bullshite streaming.

The tours don't let them start before 11 am. If they are trying to run four matches before dark, that fourth one is almost always going to be suspended if one or two matches run long. Starting the show courts at 1 and 1:30 is ridiculous. They are basically begging to have them go into the evening. That's fine for TV, but I don't like that it totally changes the dynamics of the match. Grass court tennis should be outside during the day.

Fritz through comfortably to the third round.
We need a check-in from pride.

I was thinking this chick playing Keys is totes cute, but maybe she's a little too ripped.

Nakashima with an absolute choke for the ages to lose to Struff in 5.
Up 5-4 serving for the match having not lost his serve the entire match and got broke at 15. Then up 7-4 in the tiebreak and doesn't win another point to lose 10-7.

Watching Pliskova and Swaitek. I think I'll pull for Pliskova.

The American guys are bad chokers, other than maybe Fritz.

He definitely choked his arse off, but darkness allowing a 36 year old Struff to rest instead of a 5th set after 3 straight tiebreaks is also a joke. First match where darkness completely altered the outcome.

Who else is hoping for a 2001 goran ivanisevic type run from grigor Dimitrov

Would be great for him after what happened last year.
Tiafoe and Fritz play each other next round if they win today.

Would love to see tiafoe and Fritz get a grand slam one day
If Alcaraz is out for the US Open I could see them contending for that

Tiafoe might not make it out of this one.

I’m surprised to find myself saying this, but if Osaka played all of her matches like this one (aggressive, confident, no whining), I might not actively root against her.
But that won’t start today against sabalenka.

She’s going to win this tournament. That was impressive.
