In other hockey related news, Team USA just got eliminated in quarterfinals by Finland. Huge disappointment is an understatement.

I think they are going to get that year off. A lot of road games in the second half of the season and they still aren’t healthy. I believe they will miss the playoffs.

Winter Classic used to be something to watch. Shine has worn off it, almost an afterthought on TNT now.
NHL has pretty much acknowledged that it's for the local market. It's still a pretty cool event for the hosting team.
I recorded it to watch sometime later. Watching bowl games and waiting for the Wild game.

They should only be played in football stadiums. The baseball stadiums are terrible.

Many football stadiums are still in use this time of year. So it's not going to be feasible in all markets. And putting the game in the same old cold weather markets will get stale quick.

Rotating the event throughout the league only grows the game. The same old teams playing every year is boring as frick. I'm in favor of Utah getting a game sometime in the near future.

It's great when it's in the snow. That actually looks cool.
They should also show more wide angle shots when it's in an iconic venue like Fenway or Wrigley.
