It’s still there. Just cancelled for today. Word is BM is saying they will play one tomorrow and two Sunday. On the surface it seems to be a bit of a selfish move,
But the LHSAA has been ridiculous, no person alive thought today and yesterday were not going too be rainouts. We should’ve been able to put em on a bus Saturday for two w one night in hotel. Everyone saw this coming.

The LHSAA should have made teams start playing games on Wednesday. I know alot of teams strategically want to wait til the end of the week but everyone knew the weather was gonna be an issue

Let's not forget I remember being home several times when games got moved and yet the weather "missed" and of course all sides(fans, players, coaches and yes crews) SEE WE COULD HAVE PLAYED.
With the amounts of rain I am seeing - it is a safe bet some of the natural grass fields are not going to be playable tomorrow. Heck some outfields I saw today had standing water(natural grass, with turf infields). Remember too all turf fields are not created(or maintained equally) I would wager heavily on a game getting moved to UNO.

Fair or not it could be happening next week. If teams play this Sunday, the next round could start next Wednesday. It’s just the way it goes this time of the year with the weather. Nothing you can do about it.

The rule needs to be updated. As it stands, both teams have to agree on game times and, if they don't, it's scheduled for the latest allowed. In baseball, that is one on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday. Teams, typically the underdog, will use this to their advantage and refuse to do anything else. When the weather gets bad, it puts a tremendous amount of stress on coaches and pitching rotations.
LHSAA needs a proposal that the standard schedule for these series are one game Thursday, Friday, Saturday unless both teams agree otherwise.

BM-Alexandria will play game 1 tomorrow at 4 pm and game 2 on Sunday at noon with game 3 to follow, if necessary.

We asked to play two tomorrow. To expedite this, BM insisted on two Sunday. I don’t understand that position

It’s hard enough to have whole teams and fanbases spend one night in a hotel. That would mean two (if the travel was far enough) and then a road team might have to rinse and repeat that four times during the playoffs if they keep advancing
I’ve always said play the first game of a best of three midweek at the lower seed, and then you only have one or two games to worry about on the weekend at the higher seed, fewer hotel stays needed. You’d think the rank and file teams in the state would love that if they make the playoffs (in a division that plays series), a home game is guaranteed.

I don't understand it, either. I'm sure they have reasoning, could be competitive, could be something else going on tomorrow night, could be field crew request, etc. I doubt they're doing it just to be pricks.
ETA: I think both teams would prefer to be done before Sunday, to stay on schedule pitching wise with the Rummel-STM series. BM-ASH will have used pitching on Sunday when Rummel-STM might not have to in a sweep that ends on Saturday.

I believe during playoffs that portions of gate fees are split between school and LHSAA with school paying the umps out of gate fee too. So I can see where a school may want to grab 2 days of gate fees. During regular season, all gate fees go to schools and schools still pay umps.

Gates fees are not the reason they play 2 different days. Even if they play 2 games the first day. They make you leave and come back to pay a second fee.
You pay a gate fee for every game no matter how many days it takes.

Should be a great day for baseball. Most teams will play a DH. Should make for some interesting games

I don’t think semis are in Sulphur

They are not. Good luck today! I think y’all are gonna win.

Yeah well said - also the majority of teams winning games 2 win games 3. Lots of acing up and pitching off when tge ace may be too much for any opposing pitcher
A side note on mandated days - when 2/3 first started and was like this many kids missed proms and even graduations
