will confirm it is not our Ash posters son.
Tragic deal. The team voted to play last night. It was a somber double header. Thanks to Ouachita for playing two at our place, very kind. I wouldn’t expect less from any program, all these guys are competitive, but they all know it is just a game.

Yeah I had to dig through back channels to confirm.
Having been involved with a teams that lost players) at first the resilience of youth takes over and they have a mission in mind…
Then there is a boomerang lull about 10 days later.

Barbe swept the series with sulphur in 2 very close games. 2-1 last thursday where Barbe really struggled to hit, especially with the a very strong south wind at barbe.
The freshman Sawyer for Barbe looked really good again and has really done a good job of giving them a very solid #3 starter that can eat innings. Got a couple other freshman and soph that are helping in relief big time throughout the season that should set them up for a nice run in the playoffs
then saturday at sulphur they won 4-2
this moves barbe to 29-1 and 12-0 in district. Up to number 4 nationally with only loss being the 2-1 loss to The Bennett School early in the season. I believe this clinches the district title
Barbe finishes district play with southside starting tomorrow then class B grace christian comes in. GC is 25-1-1 with their only loss against Southside. They play Benton this week too. Will play 2 games against Barbe
Sam Houston takes on Sulphur this week. They will play Kinder tonight, kinder beat them in the last scrimmage before the start of the season, we will see how that plays out. the SH and Sulphur match up is big as there is a chance that Sulphur could jump to the #4 spot if the sweep.
the 3-3a tournament will start tomorrow and South Beau got the #1 seed. Westlake will play St Louis. If St Louis wins, they have a good chance to finish #4 in the power rankings. Westlake would prolly finish #3 if they win but Im not sure they want that. If South Beau wins the whole thing, they prolly jump westlake. With Sterlington at #2 it makes sense to want to be the #4 seed imo, but there is a good chance that if sterlington wins out, they end up the #1 seed so its all what ifs. Alot at stake wednesday and thursday for sure in terms of seeding.
in Div 4 NS, Welsh jumped vinton in the rankings and Mangham is up to #3 and with tonights game against Sterlington could potentially make another jump.
gonna be a fun 6 weeks of baseball to close out the season, that is for sure.

Why is Barbe finishing the season with those two powerhouses?

Have any candidates emerged for the st michael job? Community seems Awfully quiet about it.

Id probably assume to have a few “easier” games to rest some arms for playoffs after a long season. Just my guess idk. They will breeze by both those teams

I wasn’t making a joke. They are two very good teams. I would think they would want layups

I heard there was a coach already identified. Maybe just waiting until the end of the season for St. Michael. If it is the person that I was told, everyone should be happy. If they decide to go legacy and hire the interim coach, only St. Michael has themselves to blame and it would be appropriate for how they run their athletic program. Football and Basketball are both coached by legacy students. Basketball coach is really good. Football coach is just OK at best.

They do it every year to boost their power ratings. They will destroy them like every other year and pick up an easy 45 points. Usually they play a 3 game series with them to make a big jump.
It doesn't matter this year as Barbe is head and shoulders above everyone else. They're in a class of their own. Not even close.

well southside is district game...if you are going to criticize at least know that and southside is pretty good
then the other is for power points. Same as many teams do in case its close.
barbe has played the hardest schedule in the state and its not close. on the power rankings side, just in LA, on the non select side in Div 1 they will have beat #2, #3, #4(3x), #6(3x), #15(2x), #17(2x), #18
on the div 1 NS- #6(2x), #13(2x)
then the
#3 in D3NS, #4 in D3NS,
#5 in D3S, #1 in D4S, #2 in D4S(3x), #3 in class B.
their only loss is the #14 nationally ranked the bennet school. Also have out of state wins against kelly catholic from Beaumont, Crowley Tx, Brenham Tx, True North Classical from Miami, and Lutheran South from Houston.
god forbid they play a small school before the playoffs just to get reps and some power points.
if you are going to criticize at least know what you are talking about.
new power 25 for week 8

na West Monroe will be able to compete with cupit. Sulphur, Zachary, Sam Houston, Catholic, catholic league schools can compete.
as far as power rankings, yes because the early season schedule was so damn difficult with out of state teams.

The name I heard currently works at a gym in Baton Rouge but was a previous HS/College coach. Who knows with that school what they would do. Best thing that school has going for them is the Band Director and he is retiring this year.
