they got a late start compared to everyone. also rumors newey asked them to change the engine last minute to fit his design. remember newey also came in late.

That was the alleged issue when Honda was with Mclaren. Mclaren wanted an engine to fit their package rather than building around the engine.

honda left for a year and a half, so that's time lost compared to the other engine makers. and newey gardening leave added to it. you're not gonna have success when you've spent so much less time developing.

Qatar and Bahrain have laughably small spectator areas. Bahrain has their official capacity at 70k. Lusail says 52k. There's no way I believe either of those numbers. 40k, tops, including every corporate schmuck in VIP areas.

I like the track, and I'd love to visit the museum there. But obviously the best natural road course for F1 in the US would be Road America. But neither the track nor F1 are interested. Watkins Glen would be the next obvious US track. And a fan favorite would be Laguna Seca, but it's too short and tight for F1, though the location near Monterey is great. For a realistic alternative track on short notice, Imola would be the obvious first choice. But my choice would be Algarve (Portimao), where F1 raced in 2020/2021 during COVID. And since the track is scheduled to return to the calendar next year, maybe it's ready to go now. Algarve is one of my all-time favorite sim tracks (along with Silverstone and Suzuka).

I can tolerate Portimao and Suzuka in GT3 simraces, but I can't stand those two tracks on LMP2 and Hypercar. Silverstone is the exact opposite. I can't stand it for GT3 races. LMP2 is awesome there. Posted on 3/2/26 at 2:21 pm to MississippiLebowski

A reminder that the Australian GP will be live on Saturday night in the US, and early enough for youse guys in the Central TZ.
I thought that this would apply for the Chinese GP and Japanese GP as well, but you guys are screwed here. The times will be more do-able for me on the west coast, but this is what it looks like in Central time:
Australian GP Saturday 3/7 at 10:00 pm CST
Chinese GP Sunday 3/15 at 2:00 am CDT
Japanese GP Sunday 3/29 at 12:00 am CDT (midnight)

I just looked at the app. Yes, it's very well presented and easy to see the start time for each session. There's just one problem. The time they give is the start of their coverage, not the start of the session. The practice sessions are listed 20 minutes before the sessions start. The qualy session is listed 35 minutes before it starts. And the race is listed a whole 1 hr 10 m before it actually starts. So a lot of people in the eastern US are going to be surprised and disappointed for this first race on Apple TV.

Not sure they would replace any of the races unless there was a big gap.
