Think it was in the top 2 of cars.

Had a championship winning car if he hadn’t seen red vs George in Spain?

He didn’t have the best car, maybe the 3rd best.

I’m a Max fan and this is one time I agree with you on him

Can we all agree on something.

Max is no longer Max now. Yes he’s the most talented easily…which is insane for a sport with such thin margins.

But. Max just signed the biggest deal in history, tax free, fully guaranteed. He has his own family and kid now. He’s no longer in a pure driver’s car and there’s no sign of that ever coming back.

When he hit the slippery paint line today, he was probably thinking about something else. He’s officially checked out for good unless the regulations change or he gets into year 3 of the new contract with new regulations impending.

Max is still great. I dont think he is the greatest of all time right now. He is in the discussion though

Let's see what he does. Can't think focusing on a family will mean he tests himself a lot more.

I think he’s an arse but he’s definitely top 3 from a talent pov. Just bad timing since these cars can’t make talent overcome a bad car anymore like last season.

I can’t blame him for mentally quitting. Back during Senna, Schumacher days, felt like they’d just leave for another series if they tried to pull this shite. Salary was too low back then to deal with it.

Obviously it wasn’t a shitbox.

"I mean, Kimi was ahead of me anyway," Russell said after the race on the decision. "He deserved to finish ahead. When you're in the race you want to fight for every position, but with the pace on the new tire he would have overtaken anyway. Just happy to be standing on the podium. It's been a strong weekend for me, so I'll take the positives."

Russell elaborated on the decision later and why he did not feel hard done by. "We've always said as a team when we're on different strategies we're never going to fight, and we're always going to do what's better," Russell said.

"That's always just been our sort of rules, and the fact is Kimi was ahead of me before the VSC [virtual safety car], and he tried something different to, you know, protect us as a team. He kind of copy-pasted what the Ferraris did."

He is right that he was going to get passed either way. Just sets himself up to be passed by Hamilton as well if he fights.

Toto says Mercedes is too broke to develop the car:

??Is Mercedes still the best car? Antonelli thinks not and calls for upgrades, but Wolff says there's no money

??Antonelli: "We're no longer the fastest car on the grid! We probably have the second or third fastest car now. McLaren has taken a big step forward, especially since Hungary, with the major upgrade package they introduced"

??Wolff: "We're up to our necks in water when it comes to the budget cap. We can't bring big upgrades every two or three races. We try to distribute the money evenly throughout the season, based on our calculations to determine when we can make the biggest changes and maximize points in the championship. But we've undoubtedly spent more than others in the early months of the year or we're saving more for the end; I can only understand it that way"

Max is the best driver on the circuit right now

He is still not as great as Shumaker, Lewis and Senna

He may achieve that level one day, but as of now he hasn’t

Hard to believe they are up against the cap this early in the season and after races have been cancelled.

Mercedes has introduced just 24 declared upgrades this season, compared to 40 for Ferrari and 38 each for McLaren and Red Bull.

Andrea Stella when asked about Toto’s comment: “I actually don’t believe you.”
