I understand and respect that, tremendously. And I do buy local whenever possible.
But there's some things that you just have to do to look after No. 1.
Case in point, me using Amazon Prime as a pharmacy.
I have a Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plan. I can't afford a traditional Medicare plan with all the supplements to cover out of pocket. (The head of the local Council on Aging is a friend and told me straight out, they're going to get money out of you regardless, whether it's supplement money at the start or co-pay money when you need the doctor.)
And I didn't buy from one of the jackleg people that drag Joe Namath out of cold storage to tout their products on TV. I went straight to a tried and trusted provider with a track record, and it's pretty good coverage.
I take several maintenance prescription drugs for various ailments. Most of those drugs would cost me $8 for a 90-day supply at a local pharmacy. If I get them from Amazon Prime, I have no co-pay. Zilch. Nada. Nothing out of pocket. There are a few out of formulary drugs that are a little more, they would cost me $26 for a 90-day supply at a local pharmacy. They cost me $13 at Amazon Prime.
That adds up, and the bottom line is the bottom line.
The pants I got for Father's Day, I went to local places and none of them had my size or the style I prefer, and Amazon did and I had them in 48 hours shipped free because of Prime.
I mentioned the guitar picks I use. I've tried using alternatives that are available locally. They don't work for me. Amazon has what I like in stock pretty much perpetually.
Purchasing at Amazon via Prime also allows me to ship gifits to relatives across the country, gift wrapped and tagged, for no extra charge rather than me buying things and then having to pay postage to ship them.
Again, I absolutely do try to buy local at every opportunity. And I hate that Amazon is such a behemoth. Behemoths aren't good in business. But sometimes the behemoth has what you need when you need it.

Fortunately, I have no health concerns like yours, or I might be doing the same thing. Not knocking you or Amazon Prime, it's just not been a part of my life.
Hopefully, you'll be posting here for years to come!

Scrips aren’t for major concerns. High blood pressure and cholesterol and thyroid deficiency which are all family curses; flomax for old fart’s peeing difficulties; and a couple for bad reflux. Other than that I am pretty healthy.

Meanwhile, Fox is carrying the HBCU National Battle of the Bands.

Why is the yellow out for rain ? Not a good look for nascar that they don’t have confidence that the field has the skill to race in the rain

Seen many races here, it’s definitely bizarre.

WTF came bouncing out of Larson's car.
Racing in the rain is actually entertaining. They actually have to DRIVE the car.

Reminds me of the CART race in Surfers Paradise in 2002 when 75% of the race was ran under yellow… that was at least in the middle of a typhoon … but this isn’t a good look for Cup

NASCAR has fucjed everthing else up, why would this be any different?

Blaney appears to have a good car. He's picked off multiple spots since the restart.

I missed the start of the race, but I see NASCAR couldn’t just let the teams decide when to pit for rain tires, they essentially threw a competition caution and took strategy out of it.

Why do all the nascar guys lack drip when it comes to their fire suits and helmets compared to open wheel and sports car guys
Ryan Prece looks like a frickin dork in his ill fitting fire suit

Cole Custer always looked the worst. I always thought Denny with the Jumpman logo with the Elephant print gloves always looked like one of the best
Posted on 6/15/25 at 3:37 pm to Fus0623
Why does the entire track need a caution for that?

Can’t be looking like you’re racing at a Saturday night late model short track race when you are in the bigs

I love the sports betting commercial being immediately followed by the debt relief spot.
