Did Larson have a mechanical program? Pretty startling how much he was dropping.

TV broadcast is flat horrible. After pit stops they highlight pit crews. But I want to know what happened in the stops. Strategies and problems or adjustments. Used go be they gave good summaries but now they just ignore it.
And tx needs ti fix that bump.
Chase needs a a new CC. Had a few chances to gain track position in stages 1 and 2 by taking 2 tires but took 4. Then took 2 after stage 2 going into stage 3 which usually has ling stints under green. Fell back into the 20’s. Then late race pitted from 15th and sent all the way back. Got to 16th. Bad decisions and it might be time to change. But HMS isn’t known for in season changes.

New twist in NASCAR’s suit against 23Xl/Front Row reported by Pockrass yesterday:
“NASCAR to be allowed to amend counterclaim against 23XI/FRM with additional allegations that show 23XI/FRM illegally colluded (with other teams) to get better terms in charter agreement. Judge indicated that claims may be freely amended and that is why he is allowing it. Judge also has asked 23XI/FRM and NASCAR as to whether other chartered teams are required parties in the counterclaim under federal court procedure that requires parties that could be substantially impacted by the ruling to be added to the case.”
I’m not a lawyer and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night but it sounds like the folks in Daytona are playing the hardest level of hardball. Is it a message to the undefined “other teams” that you better drop a dime on 23xl or we’re coming after you too?

Is joining up with other teams to get a better deal "illegal collusion"?
What part, if any, was illegal?
And, if all teams would be affected, does NASCAR want to go toe-to-toe with Hendricks, Penske, and Gibbs in court?
Especially Penske.

Think of collusion like this. If McDonalds and Burger King and Wendys and other fast food companies all got together and set prices that would be an unfair advantage in the marketplace. They fan respond to other companies changing prices but its not done working with them. It also applies to buying, they all can't work together to force a vendor to cut prices.
Nascar is saying a few teams worked together to force Nascar to cut prices so to speak.
I may be way off base but thats what I get out of it

NASCAR has the money and the control. The teams want more of both. It's more like a union holding out for better wages.
Remember, at the NASCAR-owned tracks, they get 75 percent of the TV money. The teams want a bigger slice of that pie.

I despise what Nascar has done to the sport. But in this case I think they’ll win. These teams agree to their rules to play in their sandbox. Its like a private club where you pay to join but agree to their rules.
Also, this isn’t like a union situation. Unions have employees (teams) that all work for the company but pay dues to the union to rep them. Teams are not unions.
Will be interesting to watch how this unfolds

The Raiders won at least one lawsuit against the NFL. And NASCAR has been at least as high-handed as the NFL.

Raiders situation was different imo

Lest we not forget, Michael Jordan is a BILLIONAIRE. His businness accumen is what started these questions being asked. He can hire the best of the best lawyers.
This lawsuit is VERY complicated. NASCAR controls where the races are held. NASCAR naturally is going to hold more races at tracks they own, thus intentionally giving the teams less revenue share.
The plantiffs have a very good case, if powerhouses like Penske and Hendrick get dragged into it look out.

That's what I think. Penske and Hendrick aren't pushovers, and it doesn't look good for NASCAR to be targeting it's only black owner, who just happens to be Michael Jordan.

Give me a break with this BS. It was his team who sued Nascar first and race has nothing to do with Nascar countersuing to protect their interests. Jeez, why can't our society stop making everything about race.

That's how the non-racing media will spin
ETA. And NASCAR is countersuing to protect their monopoly.

The other track owners are not suing Nascar. None of the Nascar teams own a racetrack so they are welcome to go buy racetracks and then ask for a race.
The charter system was made to add value to teams so if they left the sport they had value to sell to another owner who wants to get into the sport. Used to be if you left Nascar you got zero value for your teams.

Who gives AF! MJ has never claimed race was an issue nor has Nascar. Its a non issue except people like you who bring it up out of the blue for no reason. I’ve seen zero press bring up race concerning this lawsuit that is quite old.
Stop with the race crap.

I'm being a devil's advocate here. And you know it's true.
Once it gets past the racing media, the story will be "NASCAR vs Jordan"
