A's gonna A's

So they refused to trade Miller last year. Used up a year of control for a closer on a last place team and then traded him.

Seems like a steal for the Padres considering how many more years Miller is under control

This is a steal for the As not the Pads. They gave up one of the best prospects in baseball for a washed up Starter and a Closer.

Yes this is quite the haul for the A’s for a reliever. A very good one yes, but still

Just looked they got 4 of the Pads top 17 prospects including their #1 and #3 the As won this trade by a good bit. Unless the Pads win the WS while Mason is there.

The way San Diego has continuously reloaded the top of their system (while winning) the last several years to allow themselves to make these kind of deals is also very impressive

They're basically doing what the Rams did their last couple years in St Louis and just focusing on what is going to make them make a splash in their new location.

Unless they really change how they operate financially some of it has arrived too soon. Langeliers is a free agent after 2028, Soderstrom 2029, Rooker 2029 (and he will be old then). I believe the stadium is supposed to be finished for 2028 or 2029. They’re not going to be able to sign anyone playing in that minor league stadium in Sacramento

AJ Preller is wild. Don’t think I’d love him as my teams GM but I gotta admit he makes deadline day way more fun

Padres traded Wood, Abrams, and Mackenzie for 1.5 years of Soto. Now De Vries for a closer (albeit an elite and controllable one) in a year they will need a ton of luck to even sniff the pennant

Nootbar,Arenado, jojo should be dealt asap

Let JoJo go to contender, he has value.

Nootbar is rubbish, a fraud, and soft as a piece of porcelain. Teams are asking, good, get rid of him. He's not needed

And eat as much as possible to rid yourselves of ar nado.

Gray, for wanting to stay with a losing team, rather than try to win something for first time in his MLB career, tells me a lot about him
Not exactly a role model for younger pitchers. I'm just here to pitch and get paid.

I don’t know how shocked I’d be if Cleveland dealt Kwan. He is definitely a player I’d love to have on my team
