Did we really not talk about anything in Detroit? Acura winning on Saturday with an awesome pass in such a tight circuit. Palou with a DNF for the first time in forever and the Indy 500 curse holding true. Kirkwood winning for the second time this season, this time with damage to the front splitter.
Overall, Sunday’s race was pretty good with no one in the top three ever having won a race with not all that many laps to go. Of course Kirkwood pulled it out but great to see different guys leading. That’s what makes Palou’s run even more impressive. He’s dominating in a sport that has the most even cars of any class of racing. Anyone can win any day….except when Palou is utterly dominating.

I was at the race. Watched from the rooftop of a parking garage overlooking the pit area, last corner complex and start/finish straight.
It was a really compelling race as far as street courses are concerned. While the current Detroit layout isnt the best, its a fun track/event.
I thought the race was pretty fun..perfect amount of cautions to keep things bunched up and provide for ample beer/piss breaks.
Kirkwood is the King of the Streets. Super stoked for P2 by Ferrucci.
I saw Callum Illot in the paddock after the race who seemed despondent. I got the feeling Prema may be replacing him after he DNF'd

Every year I underestimate Detroit at the new course. Looks crappy but gives a good race.

@FoxTV got 1.061 million viewers for Sunday's IndyCar @DetroitGP
, up from both 608,000 last year on @USANetwork and 1.047 million in 2023 on @NBC
Looking up...but not where we need them to be ...

I think we will see between 1.5-1M moving fwd
As long as the tv rating stays around 1M while continuing to grow on socials the sport will remain in decent shape

Penske continues to make headlines for the wrong reasons. This time at Lemans. Had one car get disqualified yesterday from hyperpole qualifying, will start from the back. Today they had a wheel fall off the other car.

Another Will Power pole- I appreciated this one as I am not sure how many the old man has left
David Malukas looks extremely strong
Stoked we get a rare Sunday night race under the lights
Should be the best race of the weeekend

Good to see it’s not another Palau win. Bad news is it’s probably going to Penske.
