Wow, Rosenqvist's last lap was his fastest lap!

We're now in crazy world with the hybrid system.

Malukas was not as smart with the hybrid. IIRC, Sato would do some regen as he entered some of the corners (1 and 3 I think) and had more battery available on the last lap and was slightly faster.

If I understand it, the three Penske drivers won't be able to do the fast 12. So I think Sato is already guaranteed to make the top six?

I still don't know why Newgarden and Power failed inspection.

Shwartzman faster than Dixon. Prema is doing an insane job.

The temperature might still be rising.

Interesting, they said Palou went for a slightly higher downforce, the same as Rosenqvist, because of the high temps, and he was unexpectedly slow, but he made it through.

Man, bad day for Penske.

Interesting, Power's car passed tech, but when Newgarden went to tech, the inspector didn't like something about the rear attenuator, and it wasn't something they could easily fix.

It sounds like they filled a seam to improve aerodynamics, and maybe McLaughlin's crashed car from this morning did not have the filled seam, so it was something that they did since the practice session. Something like that.

How can Penske not know the rules? Fox TV said the attenuator is a piece that cannot be modified.

Sato is using regen.

I think he used it just once, in Turn 1 at the end of the first lap.

A team in its first season and a rookie driver take the pole in the Indy 500. Cool stuff.

Holy shite, who would have guessed a Shwartzman - Sato - O'Ward front row?

A wild Sunday.

Penske shot themselves in the foot.

VeeKay with the ballsy/stupid decision to pull his time to try again and go slower, but it worked out OK.

Couldn’t get a seat in f1, just put it on pole at Indy. Wild.

This is why Indy is the best - the track picks the winners- it sure does have a thing for Schwartzman right now

That’s kind of dismissive on his talent - he was next in line for a seat at Ferrari but would rather be in Indycar .

Today’s performance arguably cements him for a long career in America

Oh I agree. More about politics in f1 and pay drivers taking seats from more deserving drivers.

Silly boy. Penske absolutely knows every tiny detail of the rules. They are just always looking for...

They blew it this time.
That's a great book. I heard about it for years, before I saw a copy, which I promptly bought.
