Lando fricking sucks. Oscar 100% needs to be the face of McLaren.

Max had a horrible day. I don't know where he goes from here. Has to be demoralizing for him.

Oscar gonna drive away into the distance tomorrow, let’s see if Norris stays off the podium.

Great lap for Charl. George continues to shine this season.

Damage limitation weekend. Norris only 1 sport ahead lessens the pain. Just survive until Spain.

I love this grid!

It's gonna be great to see if Lando and Max can move up.

It's gonna be a great battle for the championship!!!

Gasly is the new midfield star.

Yuki is a full 0.5s behind P9. I think he was slower than his Q2 lap. He might struggle to stay in the points.

I missed hearing that, but yeah Albon is now listed P15. Bummer.

Albon getting screwed. How fricking hard is it to police track limits in real time.

It's more than that. Red Bull has to fix their car too. Max is frustrated.

Also I think Max said the current car still has the problem riding curbs.

My DVR didn’t record Q so I had to find a replay with foreign speaking play by play.

RB really struggled on this track. Will be fun to watch strategy. And Piastri might become driver 1 if he pulls off the win. That dynamic will be fun to watch rest of season.

Ocon really messed up wrecking. Puts them on back foot for race when they had momentum from last race and one prior.

TIL that when Alex Zanardi was sponsored by Barilla, it was a company that had a Barilla family member who raced in F1 just 10 years earlier. Paolo Barilla raced a few times for Minardi, but he also won Le Mans in 1985.

Also TIL that Barilla is the official pasta of F1.

Norris is McLaren's #2 driver.

Should be anyway. Doesn't have the mental fortitude to be a top driver.

Also;

That's hard. I agree with the broadcast team during qualifying - fine the team.

Norris’ attitude really bothers me. Meanwhile Oscar seems cool under pressure.

He annoys me because I get the feeling from his emo personality that he never would have gotten close to F1 if he didn't have a rich dad.

I was mostly neutral about him until the incident where he accidentally broke Max's porcelain Hungarian trophy and laughed it off. We quickly learned that Hungary's porcelain industry is a point of pride, hence the porcelain F1 trophies, and that they were hand made and hand painted and it took six months to build each trophy, and they were of course valued at tens of thousands of dollars. A day or two later when Lando himself learned all of this, he still was not very apologetic, still treating it very lightly. This is when I realized that this guy just didn't understand the value of money and had no cultural sensitivity. It was only after this second round of him not getting it that someone must have had a talk with him about it, because he ended up visiting the factory that made the trophies and they made up and they ended up designing his helmet for the next Hungarian GP. But yeah, on top of his emo personality, this made him even more annoying.

For the first time this season, I picked Oscar to win the race.

When I saw him being held up by Lando in Japan, I thought maybe this was it, the moment when Oscar was ready to be #1.

Only eight of 26 predictions have Oscar at P1.

See everyone's predictions: dg42.net/TDF1/race-prediction.php

You have Lando at P1. You let your Japan prediction ride for another week. Charles in P3 is a strong pick though!

Actually I think the strongest part of my prediction is that I put both Haas drivers fairly low, based on the pre-season test. I see that bikerack is right there with me with Oscar and the two Haas drivers. He has a pretty strong list with George in P2 and Lando in P4.
