Danica had some seriously competitive moments. Her problem was just like Bubba, she had trouble keeping her cool if someone messed with her.
That’s the problem today, people want immediate retribution. Accounts absolutely got settled back in the good old days, but in most cases (Bobby Allison-Curtis Turner at Winston-Salem in 1966 and Bobby and R. Petty in that streak of mayhem late in 1972 were exceptions) they got settled down the road where you could have plausible deniability.
IMO the best female driver ever in NASCAR was Shawna Robinson when she was in the old Dash series, she absolutely had the chops. But then she took time off to have kids and came back to run Cup and she was both a boat anchor and a menace to everyone on the track. And people can call me sexist but I really think it was having the kids. It’s not sexist, it’s pure common sense IMO that a mother with young kids at home is going to be reluctant to take it to the ragged edge as you must do just to survive in Cup, let alone be competitive.

Can tell you haven’t read this thread much lol. I catch grief from my constant bashing of nascar all year long. But that doesn’t mean the lawsuit is worthy either. Both suck. But nascar is ruining it just fine without the lawsuit.
Owners could band together and force changes “together”. Then you get inputs from all invested people. NFL it takes a super majority to make changes but the owners can do so. Nascar owners have the same chance if they all get in same page.
Problem is they sold out to the dollar. Afraid of losing money and sponsors if they strike. But Nascar would fold pretty fast if they stuck to it.
This lawsuit is not the fix. And Nascar ownership still sucks

Because the lawsuit is going to fail. Together they can get changes. It might take a strike and them sitting out.
In old days when teams tried to do that it was way different. You didn’t have mega teams. Each driver was also owner in a lot of cases. But more importantly nascar could bring in other drivers/cars and they weren't as advanced as now so the replacements were not a big difference.
Now, it would be harder for nascar to find replacement teams to fill in. And if they failed TV would stop paying until teams came back.
Thats where teams could win but it would cost them a few races before nascar caved if in middle of season. If they started in Feb thats nascars biggest race and they would likely get nascar to fold fast.

SVG has to hate Las Vegas. Hasn’t had engine issues anywhere else. Between two Xfinity races he has maybe 70 combined laps. Gotta hate that.
