Ty Dillon to kaulig cup car. Renumbering the 31 to the 10.

Such a mid driver. Must be nice to have a famous name to coast off of.

The sport is nepotism at its finest.

Petty
Dale Jr
Blaney
Gibbs
Elliott
Nemecheck

Lots of others.
Some turn out good and some don’t. But either way they aren’t getting in at all without their name and the money their parent had.

Kari Gritton, NASCAR's senior vice president of consumer strategy, was full of praise for Ticketmaster, stating, "We partnered with Ticketmaster as our new ticketing solution based on their advanced capabilities, deep industry insights, and proven best ticketing practices in sports. Their expertise will be key in consolidating all NASCAR-owned race events onto one efficient and accessible platform, improving our overall operations." If you believe the PR speak, this partnership is a win for everyone, and NASCAR fans can look forward to a smoother, more seamless ticket-buying experience.

All those names mentioned at least accomplished something over time. Ty Dillon has been in the top 3 series since 2012. And has accomplished next to nothing. The truck he drove this year was in the playoffs last year. And he was nowhere close.

Ty Dillon does not deserve this high of praise.

I pretty much said that.

But they weren’t driving today but for their parent.

Another thing is that Ty is always in a shitty ride on a shitty team. Even if those other guys are better they aren’t going to be successful in his crud cars.

So what does it matter who they plug into a 20th place car?

Well if you go here, you’ve got to include Lee and Richard Petty, Buck and Buddy Baker, Bobby and Davey Allison … would any of the kids have gotten their feet in the door the way they did without their last names? There have always been second- and third-generation drivers, even in Indy racing and it’s never been a problem. The problem now is that a lot of the progeny can’t drive a nail but they seem to have guaranteed jobs.

I guess nothing… but is he really an upgrade of Daniel Hemric?

Plus I get it. Kaulig right now isn’t the same team from 2022. They don’t have people interested in their rides.

You can add Dale, Sr and Dale Jarrett to that list

The money parents must spend now has to be astronomical. Only entry into the sport is massive money.

The thing is, these kids get into a cart at five or six years old. Kyle Petty didn't get into a race car until he was 18.
Not everyone has the money to start their kids off that young.

Jeff Gordon wasn’t second generation but he was the first of the starting young crowd in NASCAR. He was driving quarter midgets at 5.
