He’s doing Cup Series play-by-play for NBC/USA the rest of the season. I’m not sure what the exact reason is for the change, but IndyCar is leaving NBC, so I guess doing this is how they keep Diffey at NBC.. Rick Allen is still doing play-by-play for the Xfinity Series.

I didn’t start watching NASCAR till the early 00’s but Bestwick is my favorite announcer I’ve heard for NASCAR.
Bestwick/JR would be a great announcer combo with maybe someone like Knaus as the third(although I think he’s happy where he’s at).
