So can Larson just not get a title sponser, or does Ol' man Hendrick just not need the money from that premier ad space?
From what I gather, having HendrickCars.com on the car brings more business for Hendrick Automotive Group and makes Hendrick more money. Hendrick making more money means more money can go into Hendrick Motorsports and to the 5 team. So in the end Hendrick Automotive is essentially still a paying sponsor, like other sponsors are.

With those stats, it should come as no surprise that the contract extension with Hendrick comes with a rarity in NASCAR these days; a near full season sponsorship from HendrickCars.com. It’s a deal that includes not only 35 races in 2022 and 2023, but one that will extend beyond the NASCAR track. Larson races nearly all year long and has won 56 races outside the NASCAR world mainly in the World of Outlaws on dirt.
For HendrickCars.com which has sponsored Larson much of this season, the wins are more than just positive PR, they translate to a real ROI. According to the team release announcing the extension, five of HendrickCars.com’s six highest-traffic days of the year can be tied to its sponsorship of the No. 5 team, including four Cup Series race days when Larson led the most laps or won. In February, the reveal of the HendrickCars.com paint scheme drove the site’s highest one-day visitor count in more than 12 months. Since then, it has seen significant increases in overall traffic (up 27%), vehicle sales leads (up 18%), digital retail leads (up 37%) and trade evaluations (up 61%).
“More website traffic generates more sales leads, which ultimately help us sell more cars,” said Darryl Jackson, vice president of financial services for Hendrick Automotive Group. “Kyle’s performance on the track has delivered a measurable business return for us. The company is on pace for a record year in 2021.”

When we perform on the track on Sunday, we can feel the impact on Monday,” said Rick Hendrick, chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group and owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “With the chance to plan for the next two years, the program is only going to help Hendrick Automotive Group sell more cars, book more service appointments and ultimately do more business. It will also allow our company to recruit talented people and support our internal recognition and incentive programs. The more we followed the data, the easier the decision became. We are seeing clear results.”

Hendrick is sponsoring Mclaren.. I’m sure there is a B2B component involved there with Mclaren and Hendricks dealerships
additionally, the car will have additional associate sponsors from the Mclaren sponsorship cadre:
- Arrow
-Velo
-NTT Data
-Lucas Oil
-Mission Foods

Was a good race. SVG got top 10 but evened up playing field he didn’t fare as good. Give drivers rom to bang each other and drivers will use it. Chicago was single file and lined with concrete.
SVG also had more experience street racing than most of the guys in the field, if not all of them. Coming back with a top 10 on a track he doesn't really know and that the rest of the field does know is still really good though.

Chase could easily win next week,
Larson gets team orders to let Chase pass for a win next week, Larson claims something on his car "hung up" or he missed a braking window or something. We all know its coming, we need a new controversy

Worse things have happened.

Yes he did great and was banging into a few too many cars though at the start. But some had him winning or top 3.
This was a rare race with only 1 caution. Had there been restarts then many drivers had payback to deliver to other drivers. But with no restarts and close field they never got close to the bangers to pay them back. There were quite a few paybacks that never happened due to no cautions. Ironically it still ended up close at the end. If the lapped car had let Chase by earlier it might have been a bit of banging for the win. But it was nice to let it play out for change with no yellows

Shame to see serial downvoter doesn’t even like classic races.

At the time I was dating a girl from Kingsport, Tn. This is when the Bristol night race ticket was IMPOSSIBLE to get. My ex-FIL had some connections at the track. He asked me if I wanted to go and said he could get me a couple of tickets.
However, my brother had other plans decided to married that day. Instead, I watched the race in the basement of my parents house with all of my cousins/extended family. We all know how that one ended up... (I was a HUGE #3 fan at the time.)
I'm still not sure if I've forgiven him for it.

Ouch. Knowing how iconic that race turned out to be, I don’t think I would ever get over it.

I did notice that they decided to omit the 2001 Daytona 500. I understand that decision, of course, but an interesting note nonetheless.

Guessing we don't have a lot of Dale Sr.fans in here, eh?

There’s footage out there somewhere of that race with Dale Sr’s radio audio in it. It’s pretty cool. You hear the spotter talking, then Earnhardt dumps Labonte and radio is silent and you hear the crowd reacting.
Silence for like 45 seconds and somebody keys up (spotter) and goes “Where you at Dale?” and he very calmly says “I’m going to victory lane here” and the guy is kind of like stunned or something and goes “uh you alright?” and Dale goes “yeah, kind of need some water.” Then awkward silence again and I think RC keys up is like “uh hell of a job guys” and that’s it.
It was like they were expecting some kind of reaction for why he dumped Labonte and he was just like yeah I’m trying to get to victory lane and I need some water, thanks.

Actucally all the cousins on my mom's side were Nascar fans. We had a great time watching it together. One of the most fun times I've ever watch a race at home. They were all ford fans mostly pulling for DJ. We talked so much smack during and aftet the race.

I haven't been able to watch any SRX this year. Has Tony killed anyone yet?
