Street races even in F1 are generally crap. They will an absolute boring disaster in cup cars.

Dropping Road America for a street race in Chicago is so bad it's laughable.

Remember when he got out of car during red flag at D500 and pulled fender away from tire? I think that was him in Coors car?

Legendary moment. One of the funniest in NASCAR history. I understand why he did it, though. He was going to have to come to pit road anyway due to the tire rub, so it was worth a shot.

It was Sterling. Granted the recent Dale Jr podcast was difficult to listen to but Sterling did speak about that incident and many more. I had no idea he was getting death threats after Big Dale's Accident and went to Jr for help. After Jr made a statement asking for it to stop, the threats stop entirely and immediately. I was in the camp thinking that Sterling caused the wreak.

Dale Jr honestly has the best perspective of anybody that was involved in all that. It was just a bunch of guys giving everything they had to get to the front in the biggest race of the year, and probably the most hyped race in the history of the sport with the new TV deals that were in place that year.

It just happened, and it sucked. What else is there really to say?

Asked if @NASCAR’s lack of an official commitment on the @AutoClubSpdwy change was a sign that it isn't 100% committed yet to building a short track in Fontana, COO Steve O’Donnell said: "It’s fair to say we’re evaluating the [L.A.] market as a whole."

@NASCAR says it likes its position as '23 starts: "F1 has certainly made a nice effort in the U.S., but one thing we continue to look at is our portfolio where 80% of the motorsports minutes watched in this country are NASCAR-[owned]. We’re proud of that."

The Duals are Wednesday?

Did they do away with pole weekend?

Duels are Thursday night.

Qualifying is Wednesday night. Since the Super Bowl is now a week later there is no gap weekend between it and Daytona 500 weekend, so they do qualifying on Wednesday night rather than on the Sunday before Daytona 500 weekend.

God, I hope so. This year will likely be my last at Autoclub if they convert to a short track. I enjoy five wide on a two mile track.

They need to go back to the unrestricted engines. Seeing 10k on the tach at Auto Club, Charlotte, Michigan, etc. Would make for for a much better viewing and fan experience.

Speaking of Dale Jr. He was in town this past weekend running late models. Rough day finishing 16th.

Yeah, it sucks that the 2 mile track is going away, because it’s bad arse, but the reconfiguration dimensions are interesting.

They better tell Erik Jones’ gas man to load it like a freight train at every pit stop, or their weekend wasn’t worth it.
