Ominous omen, contractor killed in Chicago yesterday working on the sound system near the finish line, word is he was electrocuted.

And it’s supposed to rain like an SOB.

Yes, this is an early 4th of July parade just like we used to attend as kids. No sparklers but they will use mufflers. There are clowns but will be in the nascar hauler. Its not a race rather a marketing event. I just hope no manholes come off and no one gets hurt in the temp barrier walls..

Note, no stopping for stages on road/city courses this year. If it rains then it will be even less passing and lots of cautions.

None of the Cup drivers can race in the Junior Cup race, so no one gets an advantage.

We went from the Pepsi 400 at Daytona on the 4th wekend to this clown show.

And I hope they all stay safe. Summer of Love in Chicago is ongoing and here’s the June numbers, praying for all teams to avoid coming in harms way:

June:
Shot & Killed: 61
Shot & Wounded: 272
Total Shot: 333
Total Homicides: 65

Year To Date
Shot & Killed: 291
Shot & Wounded: 1166
Total Shot: 1457
Total Homicides: 316

So the Xfinity practice shows the track in person. Its going to be hard to pass and lots of dive bomb wrecks is my guess. Add rain and even worse, might be last man standing.

And what they showed is booth reporters will be stationed in different spots of track. That usually makes broadcast disconnected as noise makes it hard talk/hear and whwn to talk sonce you can’t see the other persons.

Track is very narrow, will be a complete disaster. I’m 5 minjtes in Xfinity practice and they are wrecking already lol. Runoffs are not really runoffs, if you runoff you will hit barrier.

Will still watch just to see how awful it goes. SRX races start this month can’t wait for those.

Not only that, they dropped Road America, a real road course, to run this shite show.

Something else that will be problematic is pit entrance and exit.

Pit entrance is right after a blind narrow corner and you have to make the corner first then hard right into pit. But since its the inside preferred corner you also have to slow down to make the turn. If a car behind you is not pitting they won’t know you are going in pits and we’ll see some crashes or spinouts there for sure.

Pit exit you have to make an immediate left into traffic coming hard at end of straightaway. There is chances of wrecks here too as you immediately go into preferred lane. And with passing hard and this at the end of lomg straightaway there may be 2 cars side by side with 1 trying a dive bomb move to pass all while a pit exiting car joins in at this narrow spot.

You can tell there will be more cautions than race laps. No cranes like F1. Qailifying and pit strategy will determine the race most likely. And last man standing.

People don't like change, I get it. Especially NASCAR fans b/c of " mUh tRaDiTiOn." But to complain before it's even run for the first time is fricking ridiculous.

I mean that's the best time to complain. If you're right, you can constantly quote your incredible wisdom. If you're wrong you can constantly argue with everyone and refuse to admit you were wrong.

I mean wtf else are you going to do during all the lame commercials but bitch on the MSB?

And some (hint hint) bitch at the bitchers more than talking about racing.

At least we discuss the nuances of racing along with bitching whereas some just bitch about the bitchers

Tradition has nothing to do with the fact that street courses suck.

Pretty much anyone would rather see a night race at Daytona instead of this.
