Wet weather package

Thanks. I thought the wet weather package just had brake lights in the rear and not flashing lights all the time. I was wondering why it looked like a rave party when I tuned into the race.

Agree with Bowyer, those flashing lights would drive me crazy especially with a dirty windshield. Turn them on steady or turn them off.

I know everyone is excited about the return to this track but from what I saw last night it looks like one groove single file racing and nearly impossible to pass. Especially on slicks.
Will the real race be different? More cars. More important etc.
Never seen a race there

There also appears to be concern about the 40-plus-years-old track surface holding up. They didn’t resurface the actual track when sprucing the place up.

They’ve been racing Late Models there with no issues but Next Generation Cup cars have a crap load more downforce than Late Models.

AJ Foyt in an interview a few years ago talking about Cup cars now compared to when he was driving for the Wood Brothers, etc., back in the old days in cars with high clearance and ltiny spoilers, said, “They got them sonsabitches pinned so hard to the ground that I don’t see how anyone could spin out.”

Seem like a good track to see what the new Rick Hendrick, no-fly zone, looks like.

I hope it turns out better than what I saw last night. Otherwise go back to Charlotte.
I’ve missed several races this year due to lessening interest, but I really want to be interested and more invested like I was a few years ago.
Even Jimmie winning all the time was better than what I’m seeing now.

They kept the track old on purpose as requested by Dale Jr, who was heavily involved in bringing it back(kudos to him for that). He said since its a non points race it would be cool to use it as it was. He also said if Nascar adds to future races they will need to repave it.

This will be like what the old Bristol used go be like, bump and run (not wreck, just move). Should be fun as tires wear out.

And Ross was told by his owner to stop hitting other cars so this race will be a challenge for him as thats the only way he knows how to race is to wreck cars. He might need therapy afterwards. Can he go a whole race and not wreck someone? Wonder if Vegas has odds on it.

North Wilkesboro looked great from that aerial shot. Great crowd, good looking facility. Awesome how this thing has come together.
