1. Williams
2. Haas
3. Alfa Romeo

Ferrari is my team but I think AR red and black car actually looks a little better this year.

My greatest hope for this season is that the WDC isn't decided before Summer Break...

Stroll had a cycling accident and is out for the testing. Not that practice does Stroll any good.

I'm curious to see if we soon get an update on the extent of Lance's injuries. I'd have assumed Alonzo would've taken all the testing time if they expect him back for the season start, but maybe 3 days of testing is just too much. Or is he expected to miss some races so they want to get Felipe some actual seat time to prepare?

Damn, there's been numerous notable cycling accidents in F1. Mark Webber got really messed up a while back. Alonso broke his jaw in recent years. Who else?

Outside of F1, Nicky Hayden got killed while training.

I'm sure there are more, these are the ones that come to mind off-hand.

Hopefully they get Lando for an engine discount.

RB's PU's will be badged as 'Honda RBPT' from 2023:

"[We have received notification in advance on RB/Ford], so Honda/RB until 2025 will continue to have trust and a great partnership and we aim to win the championship until 2025 so we have that unwavering policy on that."

Yasuaki Asaki, Honda’s F1 project chief further says:

"The power unit’s name has changed – it’s now a Red Bull Powertrains power unit – but the technology or the IP is really Honda’s."

"The manufacturing of this power unit is still going to be mainly done by Honda."

quote:

"After 2026 and onward Red Bull will partner with Ford and we are not in a position to say anything about that. But in other racing series we have the partnership with Red Bull, so we continue to work together."

man, honda really missed the boat when they decided to pull out.

The whole RBPT/Honda/Ford situation makes my head spin, and I'm still confused by all of it.

So in 2026 will it basically be a RBPT engine, using Honda design/shadow built by Honda, but sporting Ford badging and Ford's help with the hybrid tech?

Honda is registered as a 2026 builder and has been contacted by McLaren as a potential partner. What would that mean for their work on the 2026 Red Bull?

I'm dizzy.

2026 will be a new engine by RBPT with some assistance from Ford, how much still remains a mystery. current engine is basically honda's just badged as RBPT. but now honda gets their name back on it until 2026.

honda board can't seem to make up their mind on F1. i think that gives a lot of teams hesitancy on working with them.

Lando and Max on the same team together is the dream. I think Lando is mentally strong enough now to handle that pressure.

| Helmut Marko in an interview with Krone, ahead of the 2023 pre-season testing, main points:

I. The RB19 is an evolution of the RB18, not a revolution.

II. There is an increase in engine performance that can be released without affecting reliability.

quote:

III. RBR retains complete autonomy, Ford offers potential in the technical sector, in terms of battery cells, turbo and software, being key points as to why they went with them over Honda.

Collaboration begins immediately, although the engines will not be deployed until 2026.

quote:

IV. Honda have promised RBR that they will work optimally until the end of 2025 in order to win more titles, even though they're working towards a powertrain for 2026.

quote:

V. No room for experimentation with the RB19 in the wind tunnel due to the cost cap penalty.

"In 2022 we had the best car - if this one, which was finished on time, works, which I'm convinced of, the queasy feeling is rather modest."

quote:

VI. Max and Checo enter their third year together as teammates:

"We will see an even more confident Max due to his routine. How he has evolved is remarkable. In addition, he has become a real tyre whisperer and has an incredible overview in the race."

quote:

"Sergio grows with Max. [And] you have to put up with a teammate Verstappen for three years. Sergio didn't break down, that's a strong performance. But in terms of speed, Max is clearly superior throughout the season."

quote:

VII. Team goals for 2023:

"We want to defend both titles. But I don't expect a season as dominant as 2022."

quote:

VIII. Opinion on teams across the pitlane:

"If you take the team structures, driver personalities and qualities, Mercedes is our strongest opponent. They have proven in the past that they are very good strategically."

quote:

"Russell getting stronger and taking points away from Hamilton is a glimmer of hope. Ferrari has solved the stability problem and now has more power."

Well that's good to hear

Having three teams with a legit shot at winning would be awesome.
