What would you have in mind? Something similar to the North America vs World All Star format a long time ago?

Just spitballing:

16 groups of 4 - All 32 NHL teams, prior year’s KHL 16 playoff teams, prior year’s final 16 Euro champions league teams.

First 3 group games are played in Europe near the start of the NHL season. Final 3 group games played in North America about a month. Winner of each group goes to a single elimination knockout with the final played right before the All-Star break in an outdoor stadium.

The travel and logistics would be tough. And the games over there would start at crappy times. And I doubt the appetite for KHL and European teams exists here.

Burakovsky has been huge these two games cannot have both him and Kadri out

Kadri can’t even hold a stick or shoot he’s not coming back this series

I think I’d rather see a Nashville-CSKA game than a typical early regular season game just to switch it up. The start times for the games played in Europe would be bad, but that’s only 3 games per team and early season NHL games don’t pull good ratings anyways.

Is is interesting that the league always gives their top playoff award to the best player throughout all 4 rounds. Not just the championship round like all the other leagues do.

I think you would be in the minority. I don't see anyone else here caring about KHL or European teams. I know I don't. And I thought you were proposing this around the All Star Game? And all the travel costs wouldn't be worth it. The league is just now starting to normalize revenues.
