I think a lot of it was due to the tire and teams putting too much camber in the RR. Goodyear needs to get that tire figured out. The first two stages ended under yellow due to tires popping

We all want more competitive and exciting racing and we got that yesterday w/40 + lead changes and people still complain. I love NASCAR but sometimes the fans talk out of both sides of their mouths.

I’m a little mixed on the racing yesterday. Part of me thought it produced some exciting racing at times and the other part of me thought it was a little too much. That track is not built to handle super speedway type of racing. Too many big wrecks that took out a lot of good cars. I like how they made Atlanta different but I’m not sure I would classify the racing excellent.

Agree with this 100%.

It was a fine race, better than most cookie cutters the last few years, but I don’t think it warrants attempting it at every 1.5 mile. If we’re going to have a 1.5 mile Superspeedway, let this be it.

As for the other 1.5’s cookie cutters, let Charlotte and Vegas carry those banners, but turn them loose. We need to see them going 200-205 into turn 1 and two groove racing.

If anybody goes on nascar Reddit, there’s an interesting concept of re-configuring Texas. Basically turns into a 2 mile shaped similar to Phoenix, but with high banking. No idea if this would work or not.

I think we can all agree here.

To be fair, we did see two groove racing at Vegas a couple of weeks ago. It'll be interesting to see how Charlotte and Tejas look.

Saw this on the NASCAR Reddit page. It is Bristol. The pic is from just a couple of days ago:

I was really hoping this gimmick race was going to be a one-off, but apparently not.

I enjoyed it. The only downside was all the dust that flew up. Looks like from this picture they packed it down good.

Isn’t it going to be a night race this year? That alone will make it better.

Just checked. And it is a night race. Broadcast starts at 7 so probably looking at dropping the green around 7:20-7:25 IYAM.

Im all for ideas like this. It would make the track an raceable death trap for Indycar (*& indycar is the only series that currently puts on a good racing product there, even with the PJ1 debacle)

This is more like a squatty version of Pocono but with high banked turns

Did RTR write this title?

Why was FOX showing so many kids on TV?

Keselowski's #6 hit with a 100 point penalty - modified a single source part. Drops him from 16th in points to 35th.

Nascar isn't playing around with penalties this year. Brad's crew chief is also suspended for 4 races.

This was discovered at the NASCAR R&D center after they took the 6 and another couple of cars back to check them out.

Pockrass said it is the first time they have ever issued a penalty for something discovered in an R&D center teardown/review.

Yeah, in fact, when Pockrass tweeted Sunday evening about which cars were being taken back to the R&D center by NASCAR, he specifically said "penalties don't come from that."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is noticing this.

Damn, that is a death blow to that team. 100 points is absolutely ridiculous. I hope he wins a couple of races just to piss them off. Not really a big Kes fan but this has me rooting for him.

Surprised that Chase did not make the second round of qualifying.

I drove by COTA today. Moved here yesterday. It’s impressive looking place and tons of folks there. May not seem like it though.
