This feels like when I used to go see Monster Jam at the BJCC arena in Birmingham back in the day - it’s cool, but the venue is too small for them to actually show what they can really do.

Has there ever been a bigger waste of money for a sporting event? This race doesn’t even count does it? And run at the same time as the Super Bowl?

The Clash is tomorrow, the Super Bowl is the next Sunday.

The placement of numbers on the side of the cars is awful.

Checking in for the season.

NASCAR listened to then people wanting more short tracks. But they missed the mark on location. I get that the infrastructure was there regarding the coliseum in LA, but people wanted something more like N. Wilkesboro…

Hopefully a good shite show.

I just love how certain people are already calling this a disaster. Let's run the damn race first before we draw any Gotdamn conclusions. I mean holy shite some people have no fricking patience.

The crowd for qualifying was pathetic. Looked like less than 300 people were in the stands

Well this is L.A we're talking about. I mean they can't even fill up half of their own stadium w/their own fans for the NFCCG for Christ' s sake.

Exactly

If this would have been ran at Bowman Gray tonight, I imagine the stadium would have been packed

I’m not going to declare it a disaster, but I’m not overly excited about a race where the average top speed is in the 60’s.

No idea what to expect tomorrow.

It looks like it has a good shot to be a shite show. I think the track configuration is pretty cool with the arched straightaways, but it’s just too small and slick as shite. Might put on a good show, but I wonder what this configuration would look like at 0.4 or 0.5 miles… Keep the arched straights and add a hair more banking. But what do I know

I will say the cars look pretty good on the track. Will be interesting to see how they perform when it matters.

This x1000%

Nascar "fans" on social media are some of the most obnoxious whiners in the world. Its a non-points race that was moved to a one time event because nobody was going or watching the race for the last decade when it was at Daytona. Relax. Y'all wanted things moved around instead of the same-ol crap that Brian France pushed for the last 20 years - now that they've finally started changing things up the whiners are still bitching. People keep screaming about Wilkesboro and Rockingham, but those properties are deteriorating and in need of major repair - direct your anger at SMI for not doing anything to upgrade and repair Wilkesboro, and have some damn patience with Rockingham because they're working on that track.

Junior is cautiously optimistic about tonight. OH THE HORROR!:

quote:

“I’ll give a lot of credit to NASCAR and the LA Coliseum. The quality of work and craftsmanship in the racetrack is top shelf. It looks very nice in person. How it’ll race, we all have to tune in to find out. I think it’ll be a prize fight in a phone booth.”

Junior comments on the Clash.
