Take Waltrip or Jr out of the top 3 and that race would have ended quite differently with the wreck not happening.

Again, what I'm saying is that no one can make the conclusion that Dale still could not have ended up in a pack at the end of the race, wrecked, and had the same result. Maybe it wouldn't have been as likely, but it still could have happened. So to say that he wouldn't have been killed in a crash had he not owned cars is purely speculative.

With his win yesterday at Michigan, Kevin Harvick joins an elite list of drivers to win a race 20 years or more after their initial win. The list includes:
Richard Petty
Cale Yarborough
Bobby Allison
Dale Sr.
Terry Labonte
Jeff Gordon
Kurt Busch
And now...

Kevin Harvick

Dudes raced about as long as anyone has in Cup series history. Gonna miss him when he hangs it up.

Topic of owners got sidetracked. Regardless past history I think its wrong. If Hamlim wants to own then step down or drive for your owned team.

I recall back in the day a team was fined and cost them making chase due to “team” orders. Why is this different? DH could help another team he owns (or has a big financial stake in) make the chase over the team he drives for.

Conflict of interest imo.

And he's still competitive at his age, which is even more remarkable.

When he hangs it up I’m hanging up the remote. He is about the only character left

I counted up the number of championships by those drivers on that list I posted above, and it comes out to 26. That's insane.

I think I would have waited a year to try to get Reddick's old ride (I haven't heard that has been filled yet so I'm assuming its not, happy to be wrong) or drive for Jr in cup assuming they make the move next year. I get wanting to go ahead and make the move to cup though.

Kurt Busch will be missing another race as he continues to recover from his concussion.

Wonder how much Gibbs is paying KB to stay injured so Ty can gain experience?

I don’t want to see Kurt go out this way, he deserves another year. This feels orchestrated. He deserves another year.

It has that feel. But I don’t know much about head injuries.

As an aside, this is my first Post on any sports board since January. I made a self ban bet against UGA winning the Natty.
