Team principals agreed to race but that was before the drivers meeting that has been going on for a while now. I can imagine Hamilton is trying to shut this down.

Yep.
He makes statements saying F1 is all about the money while he's pulling down insane cash for driving in countries he claims to have massive issues with.
And if he wins he will gladly accept the trophy from some SA sheik whose beliefs he is against.
