Why didn’t RB immediately pit once Max got farther ahead of Hamilton than it takes to pit? Wouldn’t he then come out ahead and with fresher tires? They mention wanting Max to have freshest tires in the end, but wouldn’t you prefer still fresher tires and be in front than absolute freshest tires but behind?
