Announcer: You gonna take that Denny

Briscoe came up with this story quick

Holy shite Chase Briscoe could be Kyle Busch's twin.
And Denny handled that incredibly well. We crap.on him on here and rightly so, but he handled that like a champ.

Briscoe says "knicked him [Hamlin] in the right rear quarter panel"
The replay shows this to be completely untrue. He was nearly in the center of the bumper when Hamlin started to spin. Either Briscoe isn't remembering correctly or he is one of the all time great fabricators of reality.

Im the ringleader of shitting on Denny but I wouldn’t have blamed him one bit if he took a swing or two at Briscoe.
If he wasn’t a car owner now I think he would have at least gave him a good shove.

Denny chalked it up to a lack of "situational awareness" and he's right.
But yeah a year or two ago there would of been a throw-down.

I agree. That was a crap move by Briscoe.
Maybe he somehow thought he qualified for the win despite cutting the corner through the grass?

I thought they were going to throw down. The fact that Denny kept his cool like that was impressive

My wife was ready for it. We were both surprised nothing happened.
And I would of been ok w/it.

I am sure someone told him he qualified for playoffs before the meet up.
Otherwise, Briscoe would have been catching hands

After Hamlin ran Briscoe off the track in one I was hoping he would come back and dump him.
Was not disappointed.

I'm not a Hamlin fan at all and can't say it hurt my feelings to see him get dumped, or that I didn't crack a smile at it, but Hamlin didn't "run Briscoe off the track". Hamlin as the leader going into and coming out of turn 1 ran a line to take away the inside 1 and be setup to take it away into 2 as well. Briscoe ran a line to undercut Hamlin into 2, but ran out of real estate going into the braking zone for 2 when he got to Hamlin's bumper. He had two choices, turn left and floor it through the grass and hope he doesn't get flagged or turn Denny there. He chose the former and thought slowing down and letting Denny catch him was enough. The bigger issue after Briscoe made that decision was that essentially a black flag car took out the leader going to the white flag. Like him or not that's some BS. I was listening to Brett on AJ's channel and by turn 8 the #16 knew Briscoe was black flagged and they were running second and chasing Hamlin, so I don't see any scenario where the #14 team didn't know they had been served a penalty until turn 10.

I've watch Nascar since the 70's-80's. In that time, the two worst races I've seen have both been at indy...

I completely forgot about this.
Good on Briscoe.

Eh, but for the track coming apart this was exactly where this was headed. Nobody had any chance of staying anywhere near him.

Josh Berry will drive the JR Motorsports #8 car full-time in the Xfinity Series next season. Good for him.
