It rained so much yesterday right over the track, in Hampton, McDonough, & Griffin that we might be good through tomorrow. It rained again late last night here in SW Spalding County.

So ya maybe Hampton will be spared tomorrow.
Frustrating thing about NASCAR is one 5 minute burst delays things forever. They get it dry and then it happens again.
It seems they want to set Atlanta up to fail by when they put the races.
March could be 70 and sunny but could also be 35 and freezing rain.
July is hit and miss.
October would be best here.
Oh well just rambling.

July is fine. I'd prefer a night race though if it's gonna be in the summer.
Agreed on October. Most gorgeous weather of the year . Mid-April would also be optimal IMO.
Looking at the hourly, it' 55-60% for rain from 8 till 3 in the afternoon tomorrow, then it drops off from 4 on.

October is typically the driest month in the south. It’s usually a sweet spot between hurricanes winding down and the rainy winter.

SRX related, but I became a Hailie Deegan fan tonight. She dumped Paul Tracy w/3 laps left after Tracy cut her off and nearly wrecked her about 20 laps before when Deegan had position on him on the inside. Plus she's cute.
Of course Tracy whines about it afterwards.

There is a hole in the track right at the start of the dogleg. They are putting a sealant in to do a quick fix. I have race control on the scanner and they are almost done. Should be back to green here w/in 10 mins.

Ok. NASCAR came over the radio. They are gonna run the jet dryer to clear the gravel out and then have the cars run over the compound a couple laps under yellow in order to finish drying it.
