I am and would agree. Good game. Thought UL had it won but when Cooke walked the first two, it opened the door. He was on a roll before that. I wonder if sitting for that long half inning with temps dropping quickly with the sun going down messed with his command.

That was the full Connor Cooke experience. Sometimes he can’t find the zone, other times he’s completely untouchable. If he ever got some consistency, he’d be ridiculous

I heard an interview with him on MLB network (it was a Perfect Game segment focused on Louisiana prospects) where the host stated some projections have him going in the Top 5 rounds of the draft. Without a doubt, he has a live arm but he’s going to fix those control lapses for that prediction to come true. UL has a good looking staff. If they can find some offense, they’re going to be a tough team.

SLU ended up winning game 1 26-0 (tying a school record for runs), and are up 18-0 in top of the 7th in game 2.

This Cajuns-Tulane weekend has been fun. Good all around baseball. Pitching, hitting and fielding.
Obviously I hope we can pull it out, but even if we lose here in extra innings, I’m encouraged. If Tulane really is as good as some people thought preseason, then we’re going to be pretty good too. Deggs has these guys playing harder than I’ve seen in the past few seasons.
