Wow what a finish. While it’s still within a minute I think Roglic wrapped up the yellow today. Tomorrow is a mountain but not a summit finish. I wouldn’t think Rog could gain a minute in the time trial.

so if Roglic holds on... he will have won 2 straight Grand Tours, correct?

2019 Vuelta & 2020 TdF

the Giro d'Italia is being run Oct. 3-25 & the Vuelta runs Oct. 20 - Nov. 8 (2 grand tours overlapping... thanks COVID)

is there another Grand Tour I'm missing?

Also... Simon Yates & Geraint Thomas finished 1-2 in the Tirreno-Adriatico... which finished on Monday (ran Sept. 7-14)... why would they pick racing in that over the TdF?

I'm going to guess that was more of a team decision.

I still laugh every time I see Thomas in the Zwift commercial. Zwift have to be pissed he's not in the TdF.

Yates decided last year that he wasn't going to ride the tour de France and would focus on the Giro.
Thomas was left out by Ineos. Which was a mistake then, and mistake confirmed by how this tour went.

yeah... smart move Ineos

it's amazing how poorly the former "Team Sky train" is doing this time around after dominating the Tour recently

so as I look at the updated standings on Wiki... I see the 3rd place rider in the KoM classifications (Miguel Angel Lopez) will wear the polka dot jersey tomorrow

current KoM standings
Pog (will wear white jersey of best young rider instead)
Rog (will wear yellow jersey of GC leader instead... obviously)

seriously... is there any American that could be a GC contender any time soon?

i am biased because he is a local kid, but brandon mcnulty is racing his first GC this year at the giro. he had a lot of success as a junior and solid results after turning pro.

he rides for UAE and is a very strong time trialist and climber (even though he says he isn't). the giro should suit him because it has 3 ITT's.

are there enough sprint points left for Sagan to make up the current 47 point difference behind Sam Bennett?

I'm not used to seeing Peter Sagan still in the TdF this late and not in the green jersey... this is 2020 weird type ish

I believe there are enough. 50 points at the end of stage 19 and 21. Only real chance Sagan has is to drop Bennett on stage 19 and win it himself, but so far Bennett has been up to the task.

What a cracking stage. Sorry for Landa’s team for believing in this guy, but they busted up the race and made the day. Lopez throwing his hat in the ring today was a beautiful thing. He looked fresh as daisies at the line. He didn’t really destroy Rog, but keep his advantage over the last k or so. Pog stayed constant, but is showing weakness now. I think everyone is on the edge. Tomorrow isn’t a cake walk and I expect some more of the top five or six to start showing some weakness. Who has anything to throw a Rog at this point besides Lopez? Good lawd I love Cycling.

I've also got a 2001ish Specialized Allez and a 1987 Fuji Palisade, neither of which I ride.

...I'm terrified to look up the price on those Eddy Merckx bikes that AG2R have this year.

Dominanting recently? They won every tour of the past decade sans 11 and 14. And they would have won 14 if froome doesn't get hurt.

Did you assemble yourself? Don’t they only ship via boxed kit or has that changed?
Have loved that color scheme bike since the 2018 Tour

edit: Subtle no disk brakes brag
Is that the 2018 model?

Yep I assembled it myself. It's pretty easy. If I remember correctly, all I had to do was put the front wheel on, install the front fork and attach the handlebars.

I can't remember the model year. Bought it last year, so it's whatever the newest is. I actually got it for around $400 off because their list price on the website was still for the old model when the new one was listed on the page. They honored that price when I asked.

And yeah I opted for no discs. I only ride in Louisiana so there's no need for the stopping power

ETA: LOVE the bike though. It's been nothing but excellent on every ride. Super comfortable too. Their sizing system works
