I really get the feeling that cole is a yankee unless the Dodgers get involved

I don't see how anyone would beat that rumored offer. I don't see how anyone would want to either. That's a lot of money and years.

Good for them. Should open the door for Rendon to the rangers or Dodgers

this is probably the best guess after this came out. The 8th year is now a given and that would beat Stras' AAV

8/285 is my guess

Strasburg deal is a record. 245M. 7 years. #nats

That's all that's out there right now.

Yeah I think there may be some knowing how Nationals like to operate. It doesn't seem like Nationals over paid by a ton, but I wonder if they were able to work any deferrals into the deal or if it is more backended to allow the Nationals more flexibility in payroll next season (Hopefully to resign Rendon as well)

The #Nats are deferring more than $80 million of Strasburg's $245 million contract.

The 2028 Nats are gonna be a blast.

Considering Starting pitching won the Nationals the 2019 Championship I am all for this.

Id guess Cole signs with the Yankees this week 8/288. 1 more year and a million more in AAV. Yankees seemed like they did what they wanted by setting the market, now they can get the Cole signing done.

It will be interesting to see if more payroll is going to retired players or current players in 2028.
