The first-ever bowl with a title sponsor has a new one: the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

In partnering with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, the New Year's Eve game ends it's longest-ever nine-year sponsorship with Hyundai and now is the first-ever bowl named after a corporate mascot. And they partner with a company whose product really does go in a bowl.

"We were the very first bowl ever to have a title sponsor, back in 1986 when John Hancock saved the Sun Bowl from going extinct," executive director Bernie Olivas said. "We have had some great sponsors since then. Our past sponsor, who had been with us nine years, is the longest sponsor we've ever had.

"When we got the title sponsor in 1986, there were only 16 bowls. We were the first ones to have a title sponsor. The rest of the bowls shunned us, they said, 'You sold out.' Well how do you like us now?

Are their bowl prizes for players going to be a truck load of those mini boxes of cereal they have at hotels?

If I played college football and my "reward" at the end of the year for having a good season was a trip to fricking El Paso on New Year's Eve, I would probably just turn in my uniform after the last regular season game and call it a career.

You could sub this in for a lot of Bowls.

You think kids are excited to go to the Belk bowl?
Especially South Carolina kids that are an hour 30 from Charlotte?

That’s some bottom tier bullshite. Sliced bananas, Frosted Flakes, and ice cold whole milk. Hot damn sonny that’s up there with morning sex.

It'll be perfect: Tony the Tiger gets a chance to meet Mike the Tiger after LSU goes 8-4.
