I read about this and think it's crap. I don't understand why state court judges -- and ESPECIALLY in family court -- get provincial like this. It makes no sense to me, but it isn't rare at all.

I don't like state court judges (at least in Louisiana) interpreting the UCCJEA. I wish it was exclusive federal jurisdiction. I've never seen a family law judge do research.

The worst judge I've ever been in front of was in family court. Bizznatch was a fairly new judge, to be fair, but she simply didn't know the law. It was sad.

But even the ones that do know the law, will do the same provincial crap. It's a solution in search of a problem.

But since there is essentially no such thing as federal family law it will almost always be a state judge interpreting it. Yes, the UCCJEA is a federal law, but all it really does is decide which state gets to hear the case.

Tiafoe giving Zverev fits. I am going to end up watching someone like Basilashvili.

huge win for Tiafoe, that section of the bracket is wide open for either Tiafoe or Donaldson to make a run

100% truth. I would even go as far as saying that 80% of the tour wouldn't have played the tourney in his position.

In honor of Sloane Stephens playing great again here is a csb picture of a gigantic Sloane Stephens autograph on a gigantic tennis ball she signed for my kid after a match in Indian wells. My kid was pretty stoked.

that's fricking cool!

luckily, i was with my mom who is 62 and loves tennis (why we were there in the first place) so the people around us thought it was some incredible act of kindness when i gave it to her right away like there was ever a chance i was going to keep it

now a nadal, fed, joker, etc... ball may have been a different story...

You all may question the claim I'm about to make -- and I didn't bet it, so no evidence I can document -- but I had a hunch Tiafoe was going to beat Zverev.

Zverev was gassed and had every incentive to quasi-tank, and Tiafoe is a tough out.

I worked Rafa and Fed into a hearing today in open court opposing the commonwealth's motionto unseal my client's tax records.

I'm pretty proud of myself.

Kei pulls out of U.S. Open with wrist injury.

Holy balls these injury PUPs are piling up. I can't say I love it.

Tiafoe is a very good up and coming player with a whole lot of potential, but to say he's a tough out based upon his results this year is a stretch. Before this tournament, he's basically been one and done and out in the first round of every pro, non challenger tourney with the exception of 1st round Wimbledon win.

This match was more about Zverev being gassed and nedding a break before the USO to recharge.

There's valuable information to be had about a player by drilling down on his results as opposed to focusing on the binary. This is what I was talking abou. Matches that he ends up losing are often very competitive, which suggests that a match like today was not unlikely .

Three of the top ten out for the year and another four questionable for the US Open.
