Nadal is not playing his best but Shapovalov is making him uncomfortable by being so aggressive and going for winners at every opportunity.

I've watched USC freshmen Riley Smith and Brandon Holt (Tracy Austin's son) play a lot and it's hard to believe Shapovalov is the same age and a world class player already.

Shapovalov falls behind in the 3rd set breaker 3-0. Comes back to take it 7-4. Pretty awesome.

I hate to see my guy lose, but the Shapovalov kid is an exciting player. He's ballsy as hell

How good is Tracy Austin's kid? Will he be a decent pro?

Probably. He played #1 singles as a freshman. He's technically and creatively extremely solid. Always constructing a point not just hitting. Needs more physical maturity and power.

3 seeds left out of 16, and one of them is RBA.

Did anyone notice the blacked out frame David Ferrer was playing with yesterday? Definitely wasn't a Pure Drive, and didn't look like any Babolat frame that I know of. My friend said he saw a red butt cap, which of course would suggest Wilson, I didn't recall seeing that however. Did have a Babolat stencil (I know that means absolutely nothing). Hasn't been a very long time since he jumped from Prince to Babolat.

I didn't see the match, but I've been curious about this too, since Ferrer hasn't been playing like complete garbage lately. When he switched to Babolat, he couldn't hang with anyone in the top 20, even on clay.

Rumor is that it's some type of painted Wilson with Babolat strings. I'm guessing he's under contract with Babolat, and trying to hide the fact that he switched again.

On another note, I can almost guarantee that it's profitable to fade players coming off a huge upset win, especially when it's their first huge upset over a player like Rafa. This kid is having major trouble just holding serve today.

The problem is... the situation doesn't happen often enough to make much money.

The pic in the link it brings up is a Wilson Pro Staff RF autograph, I'm pretty darn sure. Interesting. I didn't think it looked like that stick when he was playing yesterday though - If it was I Wilson stick, I'd bet on a Blade 98 blacked out.

Don't the majority of top pros use newer paint jobs on older racket models anyway?

Papi probably knows, but I think Fed is basically the only guy using what it appears to be on the paint.

This fricking Canadian kid is so exciting.

Evidently he's already entered in a Challenger tournament in Vancouver next week and it's against the rules to withdraw and then play Cincinnati. I think no matter what he won't be in Vancouver. This kid belongs on the ATP tour.

Speaking of Challengers, Rendy Lu already holds the record with 28 titles, and he's going for #29 tomorrow in China.

I'm not even sure if that's a good record to own.

Cincy draw is out. I was wrong about Cilic. Apparently his injury is legit.

Delpo-Berdych and Kyrgios-Goffin are pretty spicy first-round matches.

So does Shapovalov have a tiny head or a huge hat?
