I wasn't watching TOO closely, but it looked like he blocked the puck with his hand. I did not see him hold it or pull it into himself. Maybe I missed something in the scramble though.

Ottawa should be ashamed for not closing this out considering the injuries, home ice, brain damaged refs etc.

Overtime playoff hockey is nuts. It's edge of your seat stuff from the first OT puck drop until intermission...or a goal is scored.

I predict rags win 1-0 tonight.

I'm good with it as long as it gets the assclown extraordinaire marc bergevin fired. Let's see if Geoff Molson has the nuts to do it. I doubt it.

SHaw and nate out tonight.

Brandon Davidson & Michael McCarrron will play.

Pacioretty - Danault - Radulov
Lehkonen - Plekanec - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Flynn - Byron
King-Ott-McCarron

see what that oshawa general can do on the 4th line tonight. Big mac's first playoff game.

Game 5 was probably the best game of the series for quality of play. Caps and Leafs were a lot more responsible in their own end, and neither team really wanted to open it up for fear of letting up bad goals, but they both had good chances and each goalie made big stops. Caps probably had the advantage in the run of lay, but it wasn't by a wide margin. Either team could have gone home with this.

Tom Wilson turned back into Tom Wilson. After three goals including an OT game-winner, he committed four penalties. Two were dodgy soft calls to anage the game (and coincidental with a Leafs minor), but come on. FOUR minors. He didn't appear in the game after his fourth, as he was firmly benched.

Kuzy had about three or four golden chances and he passed them up. I love how unselfish he is, but sometimes you gotta shoot. He's TOO unselish, and he looked for the perfect shot instead of the really good one.

Matthews was so dangerous all game long. His goal was an amazing individual effort, and he just owned the Caps defense on the play. He's not daunted by the big stage at all.

Kadri's hit was a low hip check with a principle point of contact at Ovi's knee. That's textbook clipping. If a player is hurt by a clip, the refs "MUST" award a major penalty, according to the rulebook. He probably got away with one, getting called for tripping, not clipping. It was a bad hit, but I don't think he was trying to injure Ovi. It should've been a a major, but eh... the Caps scored on the power play anyway.

And then, Niskanen tomahawk chopped his knee later in the game, and that was pretty awful. Niskanen shouldn't be doing that, and he was lucky not to get a double minor for that slash. I figure both teams got a call going their way regarding Kadri, and the matter should be closed. I wouldn't say the game was well-officiated, but both teams were on the end of it.

Justin Williams is a golden god.

Disagree. The hip impact was definitely on the thigh area, but it was only that low because Ovi tried to jump to the side, thus taking himself higher and lowering the impact point. I do agree with the NBC studio crew in that players hate the hit and think it's dirty, but, by rule, it was not even a penalty.
