Jackets can only score one goal on fricking Mrazek

Here's to Mrazek getting a lot of wins and getting the Wings a 2nd round pick.

Will the Karlsson trade have any impact on the market for Green?

Cole had been playing better of late, but getting Brassard is excellent. He should fit in with the style and scheme very well.

55 points in 78 career playoff games too. Grades out like a high end #2 Center this year as well for you analytics baws.

I did not think the Pens would deal one of their 3 young stud G prospects though. I guess they deemed 1 was okay, plus they keep Sheary and Sprong. Who needs a first round draft pick anyways? This whole Pittsburgh era is going to have one single first round draft pick, 2014's Kasperi Kapenen...traded to get Phil Kessel.

Update: per stats and science, this is a very meaningful add. Dom from The Athletic boosts the Penguins chances 2.5% to win the Stanley Cup with the upgrade of Brassard. That might not seem like a lot or even be a reasonable concept to consider, but the metrics will now show the Pens as one of the top teams in the league on paper.

Derick Brassard has 55 points on 22 goals and 33 assists in 78 career playoff games. He has scored 4 game-winning goals. He has played into the Conference Final three times, once into the Cup Final.

Here’s the problem for the rest of the NHL:

Sheary-Crosby-Rust
Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist
Guentzel-Brassard-Kessel

Canes need to get on a run but tonight against the pens might not be a good game to start a run. Hoping they play competitive and can start tomorrow night in Detroit and somehow find a way to find points against Boston. Go Canes!

And Brassard is signed beyond this year too. So he’s not a rental.

Yeah, solid trade in line with the Pens type anymore under GMJR.

Ryan Reaves sent to Vegas to complete the trade. Vegas eating 40% of Brassard's money both this year and next year.

But the wait should be worth it for the Penguins. Brassard is a top-line center by most metrics, but he will play on the Penguins’ third line, giving them arguably the deepest group of centers in the NHL as they make a push for a third consecutive Stanley Cup.

In exchange for getting Brassard, the Penguins sent a 2018 first-round pick, a 2019 third-round pick, defenseman Ian Cole and goalie prospect Filip Gustavsson to Ottawa. They also shipped winger Ryan Reaves and a 2018 fourth-round pick to the Golden Knights.

The Penguins also acquired a 2018 third-round pick and forward Vincent Dunn from Ottawa, as well as forward prospect Tobias Lindberg from Vegas.

MacKenzie says Ottawa is no longer just listening, but actively negotiating different trade possibilities for Karlsson with a few teams.

Crazy ending to Oilers/Kings. Kings challenge to get a goal in closing seconds to tie game. Then Oilers challenge for goalie interference and goal is waived off. It was funny listening to both team’s radio broadcasts. Oilers radio team said it was interference. And Kings radio team said no interference.

I’m waving the white flag. I hope Blues trade players away. I saw Penguins took lead in Metropolitan last night.
