Decision looked fine. He just missed it.

Murray double faults at 30 all then Neishikori delivers the goods on break point. He deserves to win at this point.

Didn't watch. Did Murray let this one slip or did Neishikori earn the W?
Posted on 9/7/16 at 5:12 pm to ColoradoAg03
Uhm both but mainly Nishikori earned the W
Posted on 9/7/16 at 5:15 pm to little billy
Winners:
Nishikori 48
Murray 29
Telling stat. Nishikori was the aggressor and was rewarded in the end.

Halep was getting destroyed early, but is now catching fire. Probably no men's match until 10 eastern.

It's just too bad she wasn't famous then. We could have more HQ pics to compare.

Did she get a reduction?
Eta Google says yes. Didn't know that.

She keeps them strapped down pretty well, I think they still look nice.

Can someone explain to me why the 1 seed plays the 5 in the quarters?
I still don't get that at all.

that was a fantastic game
Posted on 9/7/16 at 8:07 pm to Dawgsontop34
Because if #1 wins in the quarters, she plays #4 i the semis (if aggie would still be in it). 1v4 and 2v3 in semis when only 4 are left.

I'm going to assume you mean why isn't #1 playing #8 and #2 vs #7, etc. Seeds 5 through 8 are randomly drawn to the opposite ends of the quarters where 1 through 4 are.

Yes

3 and 4 are random for some majors too, so the 1 seed can have 3 and 5 in the same half. Not sure if the US Open does it this way.

serena so over that interview and ready to go
Posted on 9/7/16 at 8:49 pm to bayoucracka
they do
quote:
At least at the US Open, 1 and 2 are placed on opposite sides of the draw. 3 and 4 are placed on opposite sides of the draw from each other and in different quarters of the draw from the 1 and 2 seeds. Each will play the 1 or 2 seed in the semis, if they all get that far, but 3 and 4 are drawn into those two slots at random - either could play #1 or #2.

I'm assuming that's to prevent guys from tanking to avoid certain players.
Anyone awake for this popcorn match? Probably a mistake, but I'm on Stan.
