As bad as fan voting is, I don't think it's any worse than the manager and players selections. For Christ's sake, Ned Yost and the AL players chose nine relievers to be on the All-Star team. NINE! I find Craig Kimbrel making the all-star team to be a far bigger travesty than Addison Russell starting the all-star team. Dellin Betances was a terrible selection as well.

Odd that you are upset that relievers were selected to relieve the starter. It's different mentality and I like that yost picked his team like a real team since the game matters like a real game

Betances has a 2.66 ERA and 1.00 WHIP this year. A middle reliever has no business making the all-star team with those numbers. His teammate Masahiro Tanaka would have been a much better and more deserving selection.
